Deportivo only have sixteen players at the first team, the pre-season stage starts on Thursday. Coach Víctor Sánchez was hoping to start with at least the 90% of the squad that will stay for the regular season.

The pre-season stage for Deportivo starts this week as on Thursday the players will make the first medicals of the season. When the campaign 2014/15 ended coach Víctor Sánchez Del Amo was saying that his hope was to have the 90% of the team ready for that date.

He is targeting a number of 22/23 players at the first squad, and for now he only has 16 with the condition that between one and three of the players in this small group have big chances of going out loaned. So it could be that the Madrilenian coach will start the pre-season with only the 60% of the players that will compete during the regular season.

For now the players under contract with Depor are goalkeepers German Lux and Fabricio Agosto, right-backs Laure and Diego Seoane, left-backs Luisinho, Fernando Navarro and Saul García, centre-backs Albert Lopo, Alejandro Arribas and Pablo Insua, midfielders Álex Bergantiños, Celso Borges, Haris Medunjanin, Sergio Teles and Juan Domínguez plus striker Luis Fernández.

Medunjanin and Celso Borges will join the team later in the month as they had international action; actually Borges still has to play the Gold Cup, while it has been commented that Fabril’s wingers Miguel Cardoso and Óscar García will train with the first team.

Also, the coach has to decide if Seoane, Teles and Luis will stay or if some of them will go out loaned. It means that only thirteen players have a fixed spot for next season, which also means that Depor still need to make between six and nine more signings.
