Deportivo have only scored one goal within the last four friendly games. It shouldn’t be a problem as the coach is making tests, but the true is that the situation is coming from past seasons.

Depor have ended scoreless within the last three friendly games and their last goal in the pre-season was in the 0-1 win visiting SD Ponferradina. Taking in mind that coach Victor Sanchez is making tests, as it is the normal thing during a pre-season, it shouldn’t be something to be worried.

Specially seeing the lineup used in the friendly against Huddersfield Town, match in which the coach played with four U-23 players in attack, with two of those players coming from the academy (Óscar and Cardoso) and a third representing a new signing for Fabril (Corredera). Truly there were only first team members for the visit to Swansea City, but that was a more demanding game.

However the lack of goals is an old problem surrounding Depor since some years ago, last season the team suffered a lot at the moment of scoring the goals, though it seemed the problem was getting over as Deportivo scored goals in seven of the eight games under the command of Víctor Sánchez. Now the previous impression of been a team lacking ideas in attack is returning.

Perhaps the main concern should be the game of the team, after all Depor haven’t created too many opportunities in the six matches played so far during the pre-season; something that could be the consequence of the circumstances with the coach making a lot of changes during the games.
