Deportivo are searching to make two or three more signings in order to close the squad; Lucas, a new striker and possible a new centre midfielder are the pending moves two weeks before starting the season.

Depor return to train today and will also play the last friendly match on the pre-season, with only two weeks remaining before the debut in liga coach Víctor Sánchez has almost completed the squad for the new campaign.

The Madrilenian coach currently has 22 players at the first team, which allows making three more signings. At this point the plan of the club is to close the arrival of Lucas Pérez plus reinforce the attack with a new striker.

The case with Lucas is closed and is only a matter of time before the official announcement is made.  During this week the player completed the paperwork of his transfer from PAOK FC and is about to pen a four-year deal with Deportivo. It’s even expected that he could join the trainings today.

In the case of the striker, there’s a big expectation in A Coruña, especially after Sportpaper Marca wrote that Depor were preparing a big signing; according to the report the club still has one million euros in the salary cap and is trying to get the loan of an important forward.  For the moment there isn’t any clear clue on who will be.

There’s room for a third and final signing at Deportivo and it could be a centre midfielder. It will depend on the situation with Haris Medunjanin, who could leave the Galician club in order to have more minutes elsewhere.

It seems that the final number of players at the first team will be 23, because left-back Saul García is expected to leave in the coming days. CD Lugo are interested. Meanwhile, the players from Fabril that are making the pre-season stage with the first team will stay at Depor B, with the exception of Miguel Cardoso, who will be loaned to a Segunda or Segunda B club.

Finally, it was commented that centre-back Pablo Insua was going to be loaned out, but in recent days president Tino Fernández told in private to reporters that the only way the club will allow his exit is to go out loaned to a foreign top league. For the moment there isn’t any known interest in the player, so he will probably start the season as the fourth centre-back for Víctor.
