THINKING OF REAL SOCIEDAD

20 Aug 2015
The attention has been focused in Luisinho, while Fabricio will skip the debut in liga. Four players will miss Saturday’s game. At Real Sociedad, Carlos Vela won’t be a starter and could even skip the match.

La Liga 2015/16 is around the corner; on Saturday Deportivo debut in the new season hosting Real Sociedad (Riazor, 20h30 CET). After a calm summer things have been complicated within the last week with the injury of Fabricio and the situation with Luisinho.

Canarian Fabricio got injured in the last friendly game facing Galicia de Mugardos. The scans made on last week determined that he suffered a moderate (grade 2) Medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury, so he will miss this game and probably the visit to Valencia CF.

More resounding has been the case with Luisinho. On Saturday the Portuguese had a fight with centre-back Alejandro Arribas and since then he has been partially training apart. Coach Víctor Sánchez is upset with him and the club opened a disciplinary case against both players (both will be fined), in the case of Luisinho and since this isn’t his first fight in a training, he has been suspended for four days, so he won’t be available for Saturday and will return to train until Monday.

Apart from Fabricio, the other player that’s already out of the game due to injury reasons is right-back Manuel Pablo. The Canarian has missed the whole pre-season due to a hamstring injury and he will be out for another couple of weeks.

Playmaker Fede Cartabia (adductor) was dragging issues on last week, but he joined the trainings on Monday and is available for the coach. Winger Miguel Cardoso is also available, while three Fabril’s players have been training with the team within the last week: keeper David Gómez, right winger Oscar García and centre midfielder Álvaro Queijeiro, the latter has been battling with a hamstring problem during the pre-season and on Wednesday he ended the session working sidelined.

At Real Sociedad, the team coached by David Moyes is beginning the season under shadows after a poor pre-season, especially after the team was trashed by Real Zaragoza in the last friendly game (0-3). To make things worse striker Carlos Vela will miss the game as he is not fit to play.

The Mexican suffered a knee injury on last season and the doctors don’t want to rush his recovery process, for this reason he didn’t play in any of the friendly games on the pre-season and in the best case the striker will be on the bench at the Riazor, but won’t be a starter. Last season he was the top-scorer at the team with nine goals added to his tally.

The Basques have invested €8.2 million in the summer transfer window, of this amount €7 million were paid for striker Jonathas, who impressed last season playing for Elche CF. He’s expected to be a starter at the Riazor.
