Goalkeeper Manu Fernández completed the medicals on Monday and signed a one-year contract with Depor. He was surprised with this opportunity and said that it was like returning to his home.

On Monday Manu Fernández completed the medicals and later signed his contract with Deportivo. The club informed that he signed a one-year deal and will join the trainings tomorrow. After the medical tests he talked to reporters about his return to Depor.

He said that this chance was like returning home. “It could be said that this is my second home, because I lived here for four years and it was the first entity where I was after going out of my land, so the true is that I am very happy and hopeful.”

The Asturian man explained how his signings was made at the end of last week, “Things were closed from one day to the next, so to speak. I was informed on Thursday as my agent called and informed me about the possibility to sign here and next day we were closing it. It was done really fast.”

Manu is conscious that he is arriving in order to be the third keeper at Deportivo, “I assume the situation in which I am signing and the only things that matters is to work and help the team in every way I can do. My goal is to work hard, to give back this confidence that the club is putting in me. I will contribute with what I have and later we will see if I can play.”
