Álex Bergantiños and Laure signed contract extensions lasting until 2018. The club made the announcement on Friday. Both talked to reporters and explained their satisfaction with their career at the club.

After the presentation of Jonás Gutiérrez, the club surprised with a second press conference in which it was announced that Álex Bergantiños and Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’, who were ending their contracts in 2016, have signed a new contract now lasting until 2018. The president and advisor Fernando Vidal joined the players at the press room in order to make the announcement.

President Tino Fernández was giving the news. “We are announcing that two loved players, Laure and Álex Bergantiños, have signed for two more years. So, they will be with us until the season 2017/18. As a member of the board, I can tell you that we are happy and it’s important than players from our house can continue at the club.”

Later Laure talked to reporters remembering what Depor lived on the previous campaign “Last year was complicated, but it had a happy ending. The important thing is that I am where I want to be. I feel like a Deportivista from the heart, so I am pretty happy.”

Then Álex Bergantiños talked to reporters, “I’m enchanted. My dream was always to reach the first team. I feel privileged to be here. I can only thank the club for this opportunity and for recognizing my effort. This is the team of my life.”

Both Álex and Laure are coming out from Fabril, though their promotion to the first team came in different ways. Bergantiños has been at the club since 2002 and it was hard to him to reach the first team. The midfielder spent four years at Fabril and later spent other two years loaned. He was able to debut with Depor until 2011 and has played at least 29 games per season since then.

Meanwhile, Laure had a quicker landing at the first team. He arrived to the club for the season 2007/08 and played only one season at Fabril, that same campaign former coach Lotina used him as an emergency backup for the first team due to the injuries; the coach was so impressed that in the next season the Madrilenian right-back was promoted on a permanence basis. This is his second renewal with Depor and  healready played 144 games in eight seasons with the first team.
