Argentine Jonás Gutiérrez offered a press conference and talked of his debut with Depor and about the current moment of the team. For him the good results aren’t surprising as the coach is covering all the details preparing the meetings.

Jonás Gutiérrez conceded a press conference on Thursday, just after the first training session in the day, the winger talked of his feelings after debuting with Depor, “I am content for debuting with Depor’s shirt. The feelings were fine. Clearly you are missing pace and you try to earn it, because if you are fine during the training then the pace of the competition demands more from yourself. I feel fine, but also need to improve. I will try to earn shape as soon as possible.”>

Then he talked of the differences that he found from his previous stage in la liga with RCD Mallorca, “I met the first difference in the first paly as I was booked [he laughed]. The league is different to England as over there they allow you more physical contact, but well…I haven’t played here for the last eight years and some things have changed.”

“I see the league is more equal now. A few years ago the pace was dictated by Barcelona, Atletico and more. Last year the permanence was marked by 35 point and as I see things I believe it will be higher this time. So, you need to add more points. The competence is bigger and you need to be prepared. The season is going to be long and equal.” He added.

There was a question related to what Coloccini told him about Deportivo, and the greyhound responded “We have been talked with Colo, I talked to him after moving from Newcastle. The realities are different, over there they are having bad results and we started well. He always follows Depor and when I came here he gave me good references of the city and the club.”

The Argentine man said that he isn’t surprised with the solid start in liga, “It’s so hard… beyond the way you prepare the games there are times in which the results aren’t good. We are doing a very good job as we are covering all the details and what the coach wants from the players, and today we aren’t surprised as we are doing what we have to do. So, we aren’t surprised, though in football sometimes the results are ungrateful. We can only take advantage of this push and follow the same lane. It depends on us, but I am not surprised as we are covering all the details.”

He neither is worried about the impact that the international break can have over the players, “It will depend on the results. We cannot be thinking if the tournament is stopped or not. The week is good in order to rest, mainly the lads that played the last three games. It’s good to have a rest, but we cannot relax. You can extract a lot of positive things from an international break.”

Finally, Jonás talked of Athletic Club, the next rival in liga, “They have players that are physically strong, so they can beat you in the aerial game and secondary plays. You need to be careful and they are stronger at home due to the public. Still, they won’t come here in order to hang on, they will make a difficult game and we must try to move forward trying to add the maximum number of points.”
