Some relaxation at Deportivo’s training camp during the international break; the coaching staff did new things during the week, including a road cycling in the city. Fabricio is the only player that remains injured.

The international break brought some relaxation at Deportivo. After the game against Granada CF, the coaching staff gave three free days to the players, the longest mini-vacation period so far. It was the measure to rest the players after the team had to play four matches within the previous two weeks. In the end the team only completed five training sessions during the week.

One of the sessions, the one held on Friday, was designed to make road cycling. Something new on this season. The team began the circuit at the Riazor and ended at Torre de Hércules. There was also time to make a training match against Fabril (Thursday’s evening).

Coach Víctor Sánchez skipped the first session of the week (Wednesday) as he and Fabril’s coach, Manu Mosquera, were attending to a UEFA coaching course held in Madrid. So, on that day the session was directed by second coach David Dóniga.

The only player that remains out injured is goalkeeper Fabricio Agosto (knee); after suffering the relapse a couple of weeks ago it isn’t certain when he will return. For now he keeps training apart from the rest of the team.

Other two men suffered physical problems during the week: centre-back Alejandro Arribas and attacker Luis Alberto. Arribas sustained a knee sprain during Wednesday’s first session. At the beginning it was thought that the defender was already doubtful for the game against Athletic Club.

But only a few hours later he was already training in the second session of the day and even took part of the training match with Fabril. The training match was won by the first team (2-1) with goals scored by Cani and Pedro Mosquera. Colombian Juan Otero scored for Deportivo B.

In the case of Luis Alberto, he had an adductor muscle problem that prevented him to play in Thursday’s training match, but one day later took part of the road cycling circuit and later, on Saturday, he only completed the first part of the session, but it was only a precaution.

Luisinho skipped the game against Granada CF due to an ankle sprain, but he was already okay during this week. Finally, three players were out as they joined their national teams: Celso Borges (Costa Rica), Jonathan Rodríguez (Uruguay) and Haris Medunjanin (Bosnia & Herzegovina)
