REVIEW: FABRIL 0 – RÁPIDO DE BOUZAS 1 (TERCERA)

12 Oct 2015
A thick Deportivo B were unable to claim the three points at home. The lads didn’t capitalize their opportunities and paid the price at the beginning of the second half after a big error of the defence.

BEFORE THE GAME
Goalkeeper David Gómez was back, but strikers Borja Domingo, Marcos Legaz and Ben Fisk were out of the clash, so the only natural centre forward that was available was Juan Otero and the Colombian was a starter for the first time on the season, though performing as a right winger.

The draw was a 4-2-3-1. David was the keeper, Blas Alonso stayed at the right side in defense, Jorge Fernández performed on the left, the centre-backs were Iago López and Róber Suárez. Edu Expósito and Santi Taboada were the centre midfielders, Otero was the right winger, Álex Corredera attacked from the left, Pancho Cotos was the playmaker and Óscar Garcia was the centre forward.

The rival was Rápido de Bouzas, the only team that was still undefeated after the first seven matchdays. Coach Jorge Otero was presuming of been the best defence in the league (only three goals allowed) and didn’t have casualties for the meeting.

THE MATCH
The best offence was unable to break the best defence at Tercera. Deportivo B didn’t deserve to lose this game, because Rápido de Bouzas barely gave problems during the major part of the game and as Depor’s lads controlled the ball possession and had the best chances, but it neither can be said that the result was unfair, because the team only created a few opportunities and never knew how to break the deadlock before a rival that had a clearest idea of how to do the things. Coach Mosquera switched the draw n two opportunities with the disadvantage in the scoresheet, but his team never reacted.

Fabril were a thick team in the entire match, it had the ball possession and was stepping into the visiting half, but later failed to create scoring opportunities. Neither Jorge nor Blas Alonso added depth on the wings, while Otero never fitted into the position of winger, and both Corredera and Pancho Cotos were constantly moving into the sides. So, the team never knew how to attack the best defence in the league and therefore there were only three goal opportunities in the first half.

The main one was a big fail by Óscar as he couldn’t push the ball in from close range after collecting a pass from Corredera (32’), before the same Óscar (17’) and Corredera (22’) had attempts to score, the later in a direct free-kick that turned to be the lonely shot on target during the first part.

If Fabril had big problems to attack in the first part, then the situation became worse for the second, because the locals faced almost the entire half with the disadvantage in the scoresheet. Rápido scored in their first chance in the game after Marcos Pérez seized a big error between Róber and David Gómez.

Then the game became a race against time, coach Mosquera switched the draw two times, while Rápido de Bouzas gave some problems through the counterattack. Ángel Fernández replaced Pancho Cotos, who minutes before had a clear chance to score with a shot from the edge of the area that missed the target (52’).

With the first move Ángel and Óscar were now playing on the wings while Colombian Otero was now the centre forward. Despite surrounding the visiting area the local team wasn’t leaving the impression of been close to tie the game, so the coach made the other two moves.

Juan López entered for Edu Expósito, while Hugo Rama replaced Iago López, Fabril switched into a 3-5-1 system but no more goal opportunities were created. Fabril were losing a game that was tough, but that should have meant to add three more points.

AFTER THE GAME
