Víctor and his players were satisfied with the result as Deportivo are approaching to the permanence. Lucas prefers to keep adding rather than to score goals, while Emery believes that the draw was fair.

Coach Víctor Sánchez was satisfied despite the team was ahead in the scoresheet for big part of the game, “It was a highly disputed game. We are very content with the competitive level shown by our players. They gave everything before a rival with a high level. We were ahead the major part of the game and sought for the second goal that could have brought us a more comfortable lead, but it isn’t easy before a rival in need and with this quality. But we are content for the competitive level shown before a big rival.”

He was emphasizing the fact that his team only allowed a few chances to Sevilla, “Those resources that Sevilla have weren’t translated into scoring opportunities; actually the chances were only a few. I believe we defended pretty well; in the second half we were more interested in retreating, while the first part was crazy, with ups and downs in in which anything could have happened, so it was good to us to hold on a little bit. They barely created danger, their goal came in a free-kick in which we were bad placed. We are content because we defended well before a rival with these physical characteristics.”

About the injury with Oriol Riera, who was replaced after only ten minutes, the Madrilenian coach commented that, “It is a pity the problem of Oriol; we don’t know yet the situation with the injury. We will wait for the scans, but well, this is football. Jonathan entered and he did a phenomenal job. Let’s hope his injury won’t be too serious.”

Finally, Víctor joked about the status of Pedro Mosquera, who will skip the game against FC Barcelona due to a suspension (five yellow cards), “Well, we already know that we cannot include him in the roster for the game [He smiled]”

Juanfran Moreno was satisfied as Depor are closer to the permanence, “We were ahead in the scoresheet and you want to win, but you must have in mind that in front there is a great team that’s superior to almost anyone in a physical aspect. We also play the games based in the physical aspect and intensity. It was a hard game and the pity is that the goal came in a set-piece. The important thing is to have 22 points already and to be closer to the goal. Now to travel to the hardest field of Primera.”

“In the goal they moved the ball fast, we weren’t alert and the offside trap was broken. We must continue working and see the errors. I believe we must be content as to have 22 points at this height is a success. We are traveling now to the toughest field trying to add, and later will have a final against Eibar as any victory is a step closer.” He added.

Alejandro Arribas was among the best players on the field; he commented that, “I believe the situation is pretty; the team competed until the end. Things were favourable with the 1-0, but they are a team from Champions, made changes and pressed a lot. They equalized in a play in which we weren’t alert, but I believe the team made a great job.”

“The defence was fine, starting with the attackers at the moment of holding on the ball. I believe the fourteen men that played were fine. The team was really tied and we were locked at the back. It is complicated with those long balls. In the end we were unable to cut the danger in that play.” He added.

Lucas Pérez wasn’t too content with the result, “The important thing is that the team drew before one of the best teams in the league. We are leaving sad as I believe we could have achieved that victory. There was a lack of concentration in that play, but we added a point for the goal of the salvation, which is what matters.”

The Galician attacker scored for the fifth straight time, but for him the most important thing is the team, “The streak can continue as long as the team is adding. To me the goals that don’t help the team to add points are useless. So I am content as the goal helped to add a point.”

He was asked in several opportunities about the national team, he commented that, “Aduritz is also doing a great year. Agirretxe is also making a great year. There are more than three Spaniards doing things greatly and my mind is cool, you must continue working for Deportivo. My mind isn’t focused in the national team.”

At Sevilla CF, coach Unai Emery was disappointed but admitted that the draw was fair, “The draw was fair. We are leaving home a little disappointed for not adding the three points, but Deportivo are strong at home and we must continue earning defensive secureness and more clarity in the attacking part.”

“The only way to make good this draw is to win the next home match. A lot of liga still ahead and there’s margin to reach the positions that we want. We must keep working and be constant in order to be more efficient and earn clarity in attack.” He added.
