MATCHDAY 14: COMPETITION AT THE TOP

08 Dec 2015
It is turning to be an interesting la liga tournament with competition for every European place. Three teams fight for the title, while up to eight outfits fight for the remaining three places for European competitions.

FC Barcelona only got a draw in their visit to Valencia CF (1-1), and with Real Madrid dispatching Getafe CF (4-1) and Atlético Madrid succeeding in their visit to Granada CF (0-2), it means that only four points are separating these three teams, which means an interesting race for the title, at least until the end of the first round.

There’s also a strong competition for the other three European places. RC Celta could only drew in their visit to Real Betis (1-1), same score for Deportivo hosting Sevilla CF. It allowed Villarreal CF to seize the situation and regain the fifth place with a suffered 2-1 win hosting Rayo Vallecano.

Meanwhile, Athletic Club could only get a draw hosting Málaga CF (0-0), it was the first goalless draw in la liga within the last month. Then SD Eibar were defeated by Real Sociedad (2-1), it means that eight teams are only separated by six points in a fight for the last spot in the Champions League and two slots in the Europa League.
