The club informed on Christmas eve that left-back Saúl Garcia will be loaned for six months to Segunda club CD Tenerife. The Cantabrian player had only played in Copa with Deportivo.

Only one day after president Tino Fernández said to reporters that left-back Saúl Garcia was going to be loaned to a Segunda club, it was confirmed that the club is CD Tenerife. It’s a six-month loan that should bring minutes to a player that haven’t debuted yet in la liga.

The player was going out during the past summer window, but as the player himself confessed the conflict Arribas-Luisinho delayed any operation and then it was decided to he was going to stay. Now the Cantabrian will perform at Liga Adelante after only playing twice with Depor in Copa Del Rey.

The 21-year-old lad already played at Segunda during last season, it was at Racing Santander before joining Depor. At the time he couldn’t avoid the relegation, now he joins a team with the same goal but with a better situation as the Canarians are currently 14th though only three points above the pit.

José Luis Martí will be the new coach of Saúl and he will have to fight for a place at the starting eleven with Raúl Camara, a 31-year-old veteran with a large experience in the league. This is the first winter operation for Deportivo during the winter window 2016 as the arrival of Pletikosa was announced until Friday.

Saúl wrote a message on his Instagram account thanking both clubs for the opportunity, ”Thanks to Deportivo for the treatment received for so long by the team mates, the fans and the people that surround the club. I also want to thank Tenerife for the confidence in me, let’s hope we will achieve our goals. See you soon.”
