Víctor is recovering some of the injured players ahead of a busy month for Deportivo. Luis Alberto is doubtful and Luisinho is suspended. There are no important casualties at Getafe CF, club fighting to avoid the pit.

After a short Christmas break (7 days) Deportivo returned to train on Saturday and are already thinking of a busy month as the team could end up playing two games per week in January. It will depend on the situation in Copa, but for now what’s certain is that Depor will play six games within the first sixteen days in the month.

In this sense the greater news is that coach Víctor Sánchez will recover some of the injured players. For the match against Getafe CF (Wednesday, 20h30 CET) Cani (ankle) is already available, while Oriol Riera and Jonás Gutiérrez (both thigh) joined the group on Saturday though without receiving the medical okay to play. Laure is also available after fulfilling a suspension.

For now three players are ruled out of the trip to Madrid. Two are out injured: goalkeeper Fabricio Agosto (knee) and midfielder Celso Borges (toe). Left-back/winger Luisinho is the third man out of the meeting as he is suspended after been sent off in the previous match with SD Eibar. New signing Stipe Pletikosa isn’t available as the transfer window to inscribe players is open until next week.

So it’s probable that David Gómez will make the trip with the team as Víctor likes to travel with three keepers for the away meetings. On Saturday, other two Fabril’s players were training with the first team: winger Óscar García and centre-back Róber Suárez, both might have minutes again in Copa Del Rey.

Two men are doubtful for the game. Luis Alberto didn’t train on Saturday due to a tight problem, while Albert Lopo remain sidelined with a muscle injury, same problem that prevented him to be part of the roster for the past meeting with SD Eibar. Also to mention that Lucas didn’t end Sunday’s training due to a muscle problem (Patellar ligament), but he should be available for Wednesday.

Cani & Jonás joined the trainings on Saturday

Oriol Riera is available for Víctor

Róber is one of the Fabril’s player that has worked with the first team

Luis Alberto trained apart on Saturday due to a thigh injury

Lucas Pérez will try to score for the eight straight matchday

It has been a mediocre season for Getafe CF, the Madrilenian team has been trying to stay out of relegation and coach Fran Escribá has faced big problems in a team that lacks talent, however they were able to pick five points within the last four games, including a 2-2 draw at Mestalla, and are currently two points above relegation.

At least their normal starters are currently fit to play. The only confirmed casualty for Wednesday’s game is centre midfielder Álvaro Medrán, who is out until February due to a leg fracture. Young midfielder Emiliano Buendía ‘Emi’ is doubtful with a knee sprain, while centre-back Carlos Vigaray should be available after surpassing a muscle problem.
