Depor’s signing for the winter window, Stipe Pletikosa, was presented on Monday at Abegondo. He sees this challenge as the last opportunity to play in a top league and says to be ready to play in Copa.

Tino Fernández and Fernando Vidal presented Depor’s signing for the winter window, Stipe Pletikosa, during a press conference held at Abegondo after Monday’s training. The president was welcome the player, “Pletikosa is a very know keeper that played in important teams, with presence in World Cups and European cups. He spent one week with us and trained with the team. We wish him a warm career at Depor. He will be here for the rest of the season and there’s an option to extend the link. We wish him the best.”

Then Pletikosa addressed the media and thanked the welcome received in A Coruña, “I’m very pleased to be here. I’m very grateful with the club for giving me the chance to play on a top level. It’s maybe my last chance to play in my football career for a big club at the top level. I will do anything necessary to do it well. I am determined and positive. I’m sure I will do it well at Deportivo.”

“I’m very thankful for the warm welcome that everybody has given to me. It was very warm. In the seven days I spent here I felt like been all my life here, because everybody at the club tried to please me in all ways and I say the acclimatization was very good. The goalkeeper coach is very communicative. I’m very happy for everything I lived here.”  He added.

The Croatian keeper said to be ready to debut in Copa, though he understands that it is a decision of the coach, “It’s a coach decision. He knows the best. I loved the experience of training and want to do every training the best I can. I feel very good. I feel very positive. No matter I haven’t played for six months I feel really positive about my physical condition. I have confidence.”

Finally, he talked of German Lux, the current starting goalie at Depor, “German is a good keeper. He is playing really well, as the rest of the team. For me, as I said some days ago, the most important thing is the team. We all need points for Deportivo to try to stay as high as possible at the standings.”
