Víctor only has two casualties in a team trying to heal the mental scars after the debacle in Copa Del Rey: Real Sociedad have important casualties in attack.

Deportivo return to la liga after been competing in two fronts for the past six weeks, since December 2 the Galicians have played 11 games within 44 days and, at this point, they are intact in a physical sense as only two men are injured. But coach Víctor Sánchez is more concern of the mental scars at his team after losing three straight games and suffering big losses for a 0-8 aggregate score in the last two.

That’s why he decided to give a free day on Wednesday -the first in 2016- and will only have two training sessions before the visit to Real Sociedad (Anoeta, Saturday, 22h05 CET). It is still to be seen if he will make big chances at the lineup after the recent set-backs.

Cani surpassed his muscle problems and was available since the last Copa game with CD Mirandés, while striker Jonathan Rodríguez is recovered from the hamstring injury that sidelined him for the past three meetings.

Only two men are currently out for injury reasons: goalkeeper Fabricio Agosto (knee) and midfielder Celso Borges (toe). The latter is already training apart on the pitch and should join the group in the coming weeks.

There’s a third casualty for Saturday’s game: Alejandro Arribas, the centre-back picked the fifth yellow card of the season at the Bernabeú and is suspended. It’s expected that Víctor will pick Róber Suárez from Fabril for the trip.

Real Sociedad kick-off the second round trying to clear the ghosts that shadowed a grey first part of the season, a bad start that witnessed the exit of David Moyes. New boss Eusebio Sacristán brought some positive results lately, but his team has been affected by key injuries, mainly in attack.

Top-scorer Imanol Agirretxe is out until the end of the month due to an ankle sprain, while playmaker Sergio Canales will no longer play on this season after suffering a new knee ligament injury. Both men fell down in the clash against Real Madrid.

Other three normal starters are out of the game against Depor: centre midfielder David Zurutuza (stress fracture) and playmaker Esteban Granero (thigh). Also to point out that winger ’Chory’ Castro rescinded his contract at the start of the month and joined Málaga CF.

With the casualties in offense, Eusebio has talked of making signings during the winter window, but these reinforcements won’t arrive before the game with the Galicians. At least centre midfielder Asier Illarramendi will be available after skipping the game against Valencia due to ankle problem.
