No big surprises are expected at Deportivo until Monday. The club could allow the exit of Medunjanin and Cardoso, while a signing is possible, but not probable.

The good situation in liga with Depor far from relegation is brining calm to the club, to the point that to make signings during the winter window isn’t a priority. The Galician club has only made one so far, goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, and it was a forced one due to the injury case of Fabricio Agosto.

The other move completed until now is the exit of left-back Saúl García, who has caused a positive impression so far at CD Tenerife. On Monday La Liga clarified that the transfer window will close its doors at Monday’s midnight, which means an extension of three days.

But it won’t be a moved week in A Coruña, because the only expected moves are exits, more in specific the cases of Haris Medunjanin and Miguel Cardoso. The Bosnian midfielder isn’t part of Víctor’s plans and there were rumours about interest in the MLS and some European leagues, but the clear thing is that he will only leave rescinding his contract (ruling out in 2007) and until now both sides haven’t reached an agreement.

In the case of the Portuguese winger, the coach himself admitted during the weekend that a loan spell is an option as the coaching staff wants to see the 20-year-old player growing. According to the rumours he could end in Segunda División or even in Portugal’s first division; actually in the last hours it was commented that he is close to CF União, the current 11th place at the Primeira Liga.

On Tuesday the TV in Galicia reported that Albert Lopo is pretended by Sporting Gijón, but that move isn’t probable, mainly as the Asturians have a limited budget caused by a sanction imposed by the LFP. With the exit of Saúl there’s a spot available at the first team, so the club has room to make one signing. President Tino Fernández said in recent days that it isn’t a priority, but that they cannot rule out the option.

The name that has been linked with Depor in recent days is Lucas Vázquez (24, Real Madrid); the A Coruña-born player is a right winger that would add depth in that sector. He has only played 451 minutes on this season, but impressed after scoring a goal and providing three assists. There are journalists that believe that the operation -a loan spell- will take place, but only in June and not in this winter window.
