Cani will miss the game against RCD Espanyol, while up to four men have faced physical problems during the week, including Lucas and Fajr. The Catalans also have casualties due to injury reasons.

It has been a week with different news related to the fitness of the players. The first one is that Cani will miss the game against RCD Espanyol (Cornellà-El Prat, Saturday, 18h30 CET). The Aragonian midfielder picked an injury in the past game against Real Betis, the scans determined that he sustained a muscle injury on his right thigh, he is not only missing this game, but is already doubtful for next week clash against Granada CF.

Cani and Fabricio Agosto are the only two players ruled out of Saturday’s game, though other men have faced physical problems during the week. Centre-back Albert Lopo and Juan Dominguez skipped last Saturday’s game as both were ill, but the Catalan already joined the group and should be available for the visit to Catalonia, while the midfielder is pending to return due to tonsillitis.

And two important players at the lineup faced physical problems on this week: Lucas Pérez and Fayçal Fajr. The Galician attacker skipped Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s training for precaution due to a Soleus problem, but he will join the work on Thursday and should be a starter.

In the case of the Moroccan player, he picked an Achilles injury on Wednesday, reason why he didn’t end the session. But the doctors reported that he will be available for Saturday’s game as it was only a knock. Finally, Fernando Navarro suffered a knock in the past game with Real Betis and only completed part of the session on Tuesday, but by Wednesday he was already fine.

Navarro will be available for Saturday. On Tuesday he left the session before the end

Lopo is back and is available for Saturday

Cartabia is the main candidate to replace Cani

Luisinho is still waiting for a chance

Fajr has scored two of his four goals on this season within the last three matches, he will be available for Saturday

At RCD Espanyol, like the case with Deportivo, they remain winless in 2016, but the situation is more dramatic as they are at the edge of demotion. Coach Constantin Gâlcă has only added 2 of the last 24 points in dispute and the Romanian could be fired if his side is unable to beat Deportivo.

There are four confirmed casualties for the game. Striker Mamadou Sylla only lasted twelve minutes in the last game with Valencia CF and the scans detected a muscle problem that will keep the Senegalese out for four weeks. Centre midfielder José Alberto Cañas is also out due to a toe fracture.

Then Lithuanian goalie Giedrius Arlauskis is out with an adductor muscle injury, while right-back Anaitz Arbilla will join the group on this week after surpassing an Achilles problem, but won’t be available to face Deportivo.

Apart from these four cases, there are two players that are doubtful for the game. Paraguayan winger Hernán Pérez has been out with a hamstring injury, but still has option to be picked for the game, while Senegalese winger Pape Diop suffered an elbow knock in the game with Valencia CF, though doctors expect he will be fit for Saturday.
