Deportivo are losing Sidnei for a month after the scans made to the Brazilian, the setback arrives just when the team is about to complete two full months without adding a clean sheet.

On Monday the club informed about the injury of Sidnei Rechel, who only lasted 25 minutes on the pitch during the past game with RCD Espanyol. The scans made to centre-back detected a grade-2 muscle injury on his right leg, for this reason he has been ruled out for at least one month, which means that he will at least miss five games (Granada CF, Athletic Club, Málaga CF, Atlético Madrid and Levante UD).

Sidnei has been a crucial piece in defence, to the point that before the game with RCD Espanyol he was the only player at the squad that had disputed all the possible minutes. It’s the third defender facing physical problems on this season, the other two cases were Albert Lopo and Manuel Pablo.

Manuel Pablo started the season injured and, actually, he hasn’t debuted yet in liga, while Lopo skipped several games due to a Soleus injury and lately for been ill. A third case was Fabril’s centre-back Róber Suarez, who skipped the last three games with Depor B due to a thigh problem. He returned to work on this week and on Tuesday he trained with the first team.

The other starting centre-back, Alejandro Arribas, is currently having a hamstring problem, problem that he picked during the game with RCD Espanyol, but the doctors expect that he will be available for the next game with Granada CF.

This setback in defence arrives when the team is looking more vulnerable at the back zone, and it’s that after ten official games in 2016 the team is not only winless, but has also missed to clinch a clean sheet. The last time Depor didn’t concede a goal was in the las official match of 2015 (0-0 at Getafe CF).
