THE WEEK AHEAD FOR DEPORTIVO

15 Apr 2016
Depor will play three games in a frame of six days; the good news is that, despite the casualties at defence, the team is practically intact in terms of injuries.

Busy week for Deportivo, on Sunday the Galicians visit Sevilla CF (Sánchez Pizjuán, 16h00 CET), then on next Wednesday the team returns to the Riazor and face FC Barcelona (20h00 CET). Finally, on the following Saturday the Galician outfit visits SD Eibar (Ipurúa, 22h05 CET). Those are nine of the eighteen points left in la liga.

For now, there are only two casualties caused by injury reasons: goalkeepers Fabricio Agosto and German Lux (both knee). Meanwhile centre-back Alejandro Arribas still has to serve a two-match suspension, so he will only be available for the visit to SD Eibar.

Apart from them, only one player is doubtful. Luisinho is returning from suspension and will be ready despite been dragging an Achilles problem. Fede Cartabia is the player doubtful after skipping two training sessions on this week due to back problem, he will be tested on Friday in order to know if he will be available for Sunday.

The rivals are living different moments. The first one to meet is Sevilla CF; The Andalusians could arrive a little tired after facing Athletic Club in the Europa League, but represent the third best home side in the league with 13 wins in 16 home matches.

They don’t have casualties for now, but left-back Benoit Tremoulinas is doubtful with a muscle injury picked two weeks ago. It isn’t sure if he will be available against Depor, but playmaker Éver Banega will be available after skipping the Europa League game against Athletic due to a suspension.

FC Barcelona land in midweek in A Coruña and the Catalans live what seems to be a crisis after losing three straight games, one of them meant the elimination in Champions League facing Atlético Madrid. There are some players dragging physical problems, but for now only defender Jérémy Mathieu (knee) and midfielder Sandro Ramírez (muscle) are out of Wednesday’s match.

The final rival in this frantic week is SD Eibar, side in a worse streak than Depor. The Galicians have only picked 5 points within the last 6 games, but the Basques only picked 2 in the same period. At least they have a healthy squad, their only casualties so far are third keeper Jaime Jiménez (groin) and midfielder Borja Ekiza (hernia), the latter has only played three games on this league season.
