The permanence is a fact, but Depor remain in the spotlight for been invited to the definition of the title in la liga. The internal problems continue with Lopo and Luisinho sidelined from the group.

Last week of competition in la liga, Deportivo already fulfilled the mission after securing the permanence on last weekend, so there’s a feeling of relaxation ahead of the home game against Real Madrid (Riazor, Saturday, 17h00 CET).

The team will only complete three trainings before the match, the last ones on this season, but in the end that feeling of relaxation is only partial due to two reasons. The first is that the fight for the title is not defined yet and, with Real Madrid visiting the Riazor hoping to win the title, the club is on the spotlight and the players are aware of it.

The second is that the permanence hasn’t fixed the internal problems at the squad. On Wednesday both Luisinho and Albert Lopo were training apart without having any physical problem. So the sense is that both men have been “punished”. It’s not a surprise in the case of the Portuguese, but it’s a novelty for the Catalan centre-back.

Celso Borges and Fernando Navarro are returning from suspension, but Juan Dominguez (ankle sprain) remains out, while Jonás Gutiérrez (illness) and Juanfran Moreno (hamstring) skipped the first training session on the week and are doubtful for Saturday. Once again the coach could end without enough players to complete a roster with eighteen players, so it’s likely that he will pick some players from Deportivo B.

At Real Madrid, Los Blancos are pending of FC Barcelona’s visit to Granada CF, but also of the Champions League final against Atlético Madrid. The final will be played on May 28 in Milan, but coach Zinedine Zidane could be thinking in reserving some players that are dragging issues.

Keylor Navas and Dani Carvajal skipped the game with Valencia CF due to injury reasons, but they joined the trainings on this week and should be available for Saturday. Lucas Vázquez suffered an ankle sprain and will probably miss the game at the Riazor. Gareth Bale is also having some physical problems and could be reserved. The French coach will put a strong team against Depor, but won’t hesitate in resting players that aren’t at his best as he wants to avoid injuries.
