The club announced the dates for the pre-season. The team returns to train on June 7 and will make a tour in Uruguay and Brazil, the rest of the time it will be training at Abegondo and playing friendlies.

Deportivo announced on Friday the schedule for the upcoming pre-season. The players will start to train on June 7 and there won’t be a stage as in previous years, what happens is that there’s a South American tour scheduled for the end of July (between July 19 and 28) and coach Gaizka Garitano doesn’t want a tired team for the beginning of the league.

So, apart from that week in Uruguay and Brazil, the team will remain training in Abegondo and only traveling locally in order to play friendly games. The club has scheduled eight friendly games for the pre-season, three of them will be in South America, including a possible derby against RC Celta.

Four of the remaining five games should be played in Galicia, though two of the rivals haven’t been confirmed yet. The remaining game, which will be the one closing the pre-season, will be a visit to Primera side Sporting Gijón.

The eight friendly games for the pre-season:
July 16: SD Negreira Vs. Deportivo (Jesús Calvo field, Jesús Calvo memorial)
July 22: Rival TBA (Uruguay, probably RC Celta)
July 24: Rival TBA (Uruguay)
July 27: Internacional de Porto Alegre Vs. Deportivo (Porto Alegre, Brazil)
Aug 03: Rival TBA (José Argiz field, Galicia)
Aug 06: Rival TBA
Aug 09: Deportivo Vs. Villarreal CF (Riazor, Teresa Herrera tournament)
Aug 13: Sporting Gijón Vs. Deportivo (El Molinón)
