TWO MORE YEARS WITH ESTRELLA GALICIA

14 Jul 2016
Estrella Galicia signed a two-year renewal with Deportivo. The beer company will spend a decade sponsoring Deportivo in a deal that could bring €2 million to the club.

Deportivo and Estrella Galicia signed a two-year renewal of the sponsoring agreement that’s coming from the season 2008/09. Both entities denied to comment on the amount of money that the brewery company will pay to Depor, it was only said that the amount is “similar” to the one of previous years, so it’s believed that’s around the €2 million.

Ignacio Rivera, advisor and delegate of Hijos de Rivera, represented Estrella Galicia during the announcement and said that, “This is a very happy day for us; as you can see we have renewed our sponsorship of our loved Deportivo La Coruña. The renewal is for two more years and we are very happy for it.”

Meanwhile, president Tino Fernández commented that, “Today is a special day. The contracts are talking today, but also the heart. The heart speaks louder. This is our home and is special to represent Deportivo in this instance. It means a great honour to sign an important agreement like this with a great company that supports Deportivo, sports and Galicia.”

The good relation with Estrella Galicia is coming from the season 2008/09. On Thursday March 13th, 2009 Deportivo and the beer brand reached an agreement to sponsor the shirt of Depor for one and a half season; deal that has been renewed in two previous opportunities. The contract included the sponsorship of Depor’s first team shirt and also to put the logo of the company in public acts, like the press conferences.

In this opportunity, and since Estrella Galicia is also fulfilling 110 years of history, the club and the company agreed to celebrate the date with a special edition of the team shirt, which was presented during the act and that will be used as the third kit during the new season.
