Bruno Gama remains doubtful, but has chances of been picked for the game. Navarro won’t play and Marlos Moreno remains missing fitness. The rival doesn’t have any casualty for the game

La Liga returns after the international break with Athletic Club visiting the Riazor (Sunday, 20h30 CET). Coach Gaizka Garitano has two injury concerns for the game: winger Bruno Gama (ankle sprain) and left-back Fernando Navarro (Soleus injury)

Gama skipped the trainings the whole week until joining the group on Friday. The doctors and the coaching staff will decide until Saturday if he will be picked for Sunday’s game, just minutes before releasing the roster for the match. In the case of Navarro, the Catalan has trained at the gym all week long and it isn’t expected that he could be available.

The four international players arrived to A Coruña without novelties. Midfielder Fayçal Fajr and striker Florin Andone joined the team on Thursday and are set to repeat their roles as starters. Meanwhile midfielder Celso Borges and attacker Marlos Moreno joined the trainings until Friday. Borges was even tested as starter during Friday’s session.

In the case of Moreno, probably he won’t be picked for the match. Garitano is upset as he tried to liberate him from the duties with Colombia, but coach Néstor Pékerman didn’t allow it. He needs a special routine after joining the team until September and the coaching staff was hoping to take advantage of the break with an intense training, but in the end it was wasted as the player had to make a long trip to only play eight minutes, so he will probably stay on the sidelines.

Garitano commented the situation during an interview at Radio Cadena Cope,” Let’s see how he arrives, but for us it was a step backwards to see him picked to the national team. The true is that we are upset for not having him in the past fifteen days working with us, because it would have been great. He needs a period of adaptation. He is a young lad coming from Colombia, from a different football. He made two trainings with us, plus some minutes in a friendly, but doesn’t even know the names of the partners. Still, he is a different player that can help us in offense, I am convinced.”

At Athletic Club, coach Ernesto Valverde once again had a poor start after his team lost the first two games. Still, there’s confidence that the Basques will be fighting for the European places. The good news is that Txingurri has his 24 players available for the visit to the Riazor.

Defender Mikel San José skipped the game against FC Barcelona due to a back problem, but he has trained with normality during the week and will probably be a starter against Depor. The other two players with physical problems, defender Eneko Bóveda (knock) and midfielder Mikel Rico (knee), will be available for the game.
