SIDNEI OUT FOR TWO WEEKS

14 Sep 2016
The second casualty coming from the game against Athletic Club is Sidnei Rechel; the centre-back will be out for two weeks and will probably miss the next four games in liga.

The club informed on Tuesday that the scans on Sidnei Rechel revealed a grade I muscle injury on his right thigh. The centre-back had to be replaced in the second half of the game against Athletic Club after been forced to run in order to intercept a rival.

A grade I muscle injury means a torn on the myotendinous junction of the long head, the player will be in physiotherapy for a few days and later will start to join the trainings with the team, this means he will be out for a period between the 8 and 10 days.

It isn’t a difficult case, but the problem is that during next week Deportivo have to play three games in a matter of six days, therefore the Brazilian will probably miss the next four meetings (Alavés, Leganés, Atlético & Sporting Gijón).

And this situation leaves coach Garitano with only two centre-backs at the first team: Alejandro Arribas and Raúl Albentosa.  He will probably pick someone for Fabril in order to fill the gaps, at least for the away meetings.
