Sidnei returns and Fajr is suspended for the key home game with Sporting Gijón; the rival is losing Lora and probably Nacho Cases too.

After been unable to win since matchday 01, Deportivo return to the Riazor with the feeling that they need to defeat Sporting Gijón (Saturday, 20h45 CET) in order to clear the nerves away at the team and ease the anxiety among the fans due to the last results at home.

Coach Gaizka Garitano is boosted with the return of Sidnei Rechel, the Brazilian centre-back missed the last three games due to a muscle problem, but he’s training with the group since Monday and should receive the medical okay to play on Friday and therefore he should be available for the game.

This reduces the list of casualties for Saturday’s match to three. Joselu remains recovering from his knee injury. Meanwhile, the scans made on this week to Carles Gil confirmed that the winger suffered a grade I muscle injury on his left thigh. He will be out for one or two weeks.

Finally, Fayçal Fajr will miss the game for suspension after been sent off against Atlético Madrid. For this reason, the coach will have to make at least one change at the lineup, though it’s expected he will continue playing with a 4-2-3-1 system.

Sporting arrive to this game with a different situation than last season as they aren’t in relegation, but knowing they need to add after suffering three straight losses. Coach Abelardo Fernández is having the casualty of midfielder Alberto Lora, who is fulfilling a one-match suspension.

Centre midfielder Nacho Cases is doubtful with a muscle problem and it’s highly probable that he won’t play against Depor, while it’s expected that centre-back Fernando Amorebieta and midfielder Xavi Torres could be available after dragging knocks from last week. As it always happened a large crowd will travel from Gijón for the game. Depor sold 1,400 tickets, but the reports estimate that 4,000 fans will make the trip to A Coruña for Saturday’s match.
