CAPARROS HAS PREPARED THE LINEUP FOR SUNDAY'S GAME

30 Nov 2006
Coach Joaqu?n Caparr??s has been thinking about the lineup that will face Racing Santader at the Riazor. It's an important game since the Galicians have a negative mark of five consecutive liga matches without a victory. In the beginning, the Sevillan trainer will use the same squad that defeated Atl?©tico Madrid some weeks ago, the only exception will be Sergio who will be replaced by Verd??.

Caparr??s will return to play with the same defensive line that gave good results during the first seven liga matches. This mean that Antonio Barrag??n will return as a right back, while Joan Capdevila will cover the left side. The duo in the centre will by conformed by Albert Lopo and Alvaro Arbeloa. The Catalan missed the last game for suspension and Arbeloa has been occupying the right side during the last matches.

The main modification will occur in midfield. Sergio will stay on the bench, while Joan Verd?? will perform as a pivote alongside Fabricio Coloccini. It seems that this is Caparr??s's solution to the poor game showed by the squad and that has generated all kind of criticism in the papers. Verd?? would give more pause and effectiveness to the transit of the ball, and Coloccini will be his protector.

Juan Rodr?guez will also enjoy of a spot in this lineup, this time he would perform as a playmaker, the same roll that he played in the match with Atl?©tico Madrid. Javier Arizmendi and Cristian Hidalgo will perform on the wings, both of them are ready to play after being injured during the last days. Finally, Riki will have a new chance in the most criticised function: the one of the striker.

The main victim for Sunday's game will be Sergio; the Catalan midfielder said yesterday that he wasn't happy when Caparr??s replaced him at half-time during the game with Osasuna, but he also wants to improve his work in order to change the scenario: "It's abnormal to see myself out of a game at half-time. It makes me think that I am doing a bad job or maybe it was a tactical change, it's weird and it surprised me because it rarely happened to me. But what I have to do, is to keep on working and try to keep my spot for the next match."

The Catalan also confessed that Deportivo isn't prepared to be at the top places of the table: "We can't hide the situation. I believe that this team hasn't been made to be at the top places. I think that our team is ready to be in mid-table, in this way we will be able to find stability, and later we can think fighting for a better position."
