Garitano recovers Carles Gil, but losses Juanfran Moreno. FC Barcelona have been facing important casualties. Luis Enrique has to decide if Lionel Messi will play.

Mixed news for coach Gaizka Garitano. Winger Carlos Gil has received the medical okay to play after been out for two weeks due to a hamstring injury. But at the same time right-back Juanfran Moreno is ruled out of the visit to FC Barcelona (Saturday, 16h15 CET) after picking a muscle problem (right thigh) during Wednesday’s training.

A second player missing the game at the Camp Nou is striker Joselu, who will still out for another two months (knee). Midfielder Fayçal Fajr returns from suspension, while centre-back Sidnei Rechel will be available after been rested during the international break.

All the international players returned without problems. Celso Borges arrived on Monday, while the duo Fayçal Fajr and Florin Andone joined the group on Thursday. The trio is fit to play and could be part of the starting lineup.

At FC Barcelona, coach Luis Enrique has important doubts for the game. First to all they face Manchester City FC in midweek for the Champions League and there’s a pressure to rotate players, mainly the international ones. Later the Catalans have been suffering injuries in recent weeks and the ex-Celta coach might extend the recovery process of some key men.

Three men are already out for injury reasons sustained with their national teams. Goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen suffered a knee sprain when he was training with The Netherlands and is out for three weeks. Then the starting full-backs are out.  Sergi Roberto picked an adductor injury before a game with the U-21 squad and won’t be available, neither Jordi Alba, who picked a muscle problem (left thigh) in the match Italy-Spain.

Then the situation with Umtiti, Rakitic and Messi. The trio should be fit to play for Saturday, but Luis Enrique must decide if they will play the full game or if they should be reserved for the Champions League. French centre-back Samuel Umtiti has been out for two weeks with a muscle problem, Argentine Lionel Messi has been out for three weeks with an adductor problem and Croatian Ivan Rakitić is dragging an Achilles problem.
