Deportivo are pending to close the renewals of Sidnei Rechel and Ryan Babel, the latter is ending his link with the club at the end of the month. Joselu has also been tempted by Deportivo.

With only two weeks pending to end the year, the clubs are already planning the moves during the winter window. Deportivo are eager to make signings, but it seems that the priority is to secure the continuity of two players that are currently at the squad: Sidnei Rechel and Ryan Babel.

The most urgent case is Babel, who ends his link with Depor on December 31. The Dutchman was an emergency signing after the injury of Joselu, and he has responded with good performances, plus three goals and an assist.

According to La Voz de Galicia the club is interested in signing a contract going beyond June 2017 and the striker has said in recent weeks that he feels comfortable in A Coruña and announced that on this week his agents will start to negotiate with Deportivo, but there are some worries as other clubs already put their eyes on him, like Beşiktaş SK, this according to the Turkish media.

The case with Sidnei is stuck, since the beginning of the season president Tino Fernández and sporting director Richard Barral have been saying that it is a “matter of hours”, but nothing has happened yet. According to Radio Cadena Ser the problem is that the agents of the Brazilian are in conflict and haven’t fixed yet the way they are going to distribute the income.

During the summer, Valencia CF offered €10 million to SL Benfica, club that together with Gestifute had the 65% of his rights, but Depor had the right to match any offer and, after the Portuguese club informed that they were accepting the proposal, the Galicians counteracted and informed that they were matching the offer and thus bought the remaining 65%. Deportivo have to pay €6.5 million in the next four years and the Brazilian defender ended with a contract lasting until 2018. But Depor want to avoid a similar scenario and are pushing to sign a new contract with the player, this time with a duration of four or five years and with the release clause lifted to €20 million.

Finally, Depor are interested in renewing a third player: Joselu Mato. The Galician attacker is loaned from Stoke City and Depor are now interesting in buying his rights. Loa Voz de Galicia reported that the contacts already started, though it will be difficult as The Potters paid €8 million for him and won’t allow his exit so easily.
