The club finally announced that Sidnei Rechel is renewing his contract. The Brazilian signed a new deal lasting until 2020, the buyout clause is reported to be now of €20 million

The case with Sidnei Rechel is finally over, since the beginning of the season president Tino Fernández and sporting director Richard Barral have been saying that it was a “matter of hours”, but nothing happened within the next four months. According to Radio Cadena Ser the problem was that the agents of the Brazilian were in conflict as they didn’t fix the way they were going to distribute the income.

But before the Copa game with Real Betis, the club announced that the deal was finally signed. Sidnei is now sealing a contract lasting until 2020. The club didn’t give more details, but it’s understand that the new release clause is €20 million

During the summer, Valencia CF offered €10 million to SL Benfica, club that together with Gestifute had the 65% of his rights, but Depor had the right to match any offer and, after the Portuguese club informed that they were accepting the proposal.

The Galicians counteracted and informed that they were matching the offer and thus bought the remaining 65%. Deportivo have to pay €6.5 million in the next four years and the Brazilian defender ended with a contract lasting until 2018, which has now been extended in two additional seasons.
