The first signing of the winter window completed the medicals on Friday. He told to reporters that he will stay for next season if he scores goals and that his favourite player is Albert Luque.

Ola John completed the medicals on Friday’s morning and trained apart at Abegondo during the session held in the afternoon. Before he talked to reporters and explained his satisfaction for joining Depor, “I am very happy for been here, in a great club with a great history. The Spanish league is a big league.”

He confirmed that there’s a buyout option over him and that he will be happy to stay, “Off course, but it will depend on how the season develops. If I score goals and I play well, then you will see me here for next season.”

The winger coincided with several former players of Deportivo and talked to them before arriving to A Coruña, “The people that I met told me great things of the club. I talked to Hélder Costa and Iván Cavaleiro and they gave me good references. I talked to Luisinho, but until I already knew that I was coming. Before arriving I also talked to Ryan Babel, he told me this is a good club, a good family. This is important for me in this stage of my career.”

John also described his characteristics, “I am the typical winger, I like to release crosses and provide passes to the strikers. I am fast and like one-on-one actions. I feel more comfortable performing on the left. Babel and I are different players. These are things in football, some players are coming and others are leaving and you always face pressure.”

The Dutchman also confirmed that he needs some time as he is coming from an injury, “I spent two months on the sidelines as I was injured, I was already training, but sort or less I need one more week in order to be fit to play. I am already recovered from the hamstring injury.”

Finally, Ola Johan confessed that Albert Luque is among his favourite players, “I have been following Depor because Sidnei, Luisinho, Hélder Costa and Iván Cavaleiro were on here. Before I also followed the club for Luque, who is one of my favourite players.”
