There are no longer undefeated teams in la liga after the defeat of Real Madrid visiting Sevilla CF in what turned to ne the fourth worst matchday in terms of goals scored.

Real Madrid lost for the first time on the season, the Madrilenians were winning 0-1 visiting Sevilla CF by minute 85, but the Andalusians pulled two goals at the end and added three points that leave them at the second position.

Now there are no longer undefeated teams in la liga as Los Blancos ended their unbeaten streak in all competitions in 40, the highest ever for a Spanish club. Another thing to emphasize in the matchday is the low number of goals: 22. It’s the fourth lowest mark on the season after matchdays 02 (17), 11 (21) and 12(21).

FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid seized the situation and advanced at the standings; the Catalans didn’t face any opposition and dispatched UD Las Palmas (5-0), while the Madrilenians had enough with an early goal to beat Real Betis (1-0).

Villarreal CF felt the casualties and only rescued a point visiting Deportivo (0-0), while Real Sociedad jumped into the fifth position after a 0-2 win visiting Málaga CF. Athletic Club remain seventh despite a goalless draw visiting CD Leganés, while RC Celta had to wait until the last second in order to beat a Deportivo Alavés that played with ten men for the final 45 minutes (1-0).

The situation at the top of the standings:

6 Villarreal 31 26 12

The crisis among the last three places was extended for one more matchday; Sporting Gijón committed too many errors and lost at home before SD Eibar (21-3), while Granada CF and CA Osasuna cancelled each other with a 1-1 draw at Los Cármenes.

No matter what happens in the next matchday, these three clubs will end the first round in relegation, this after Valencia CF grabbed some air with a 2-1 victory hosting RCD Espanyol.  Depor are now six points above demotion and extended their streak to six straight official games without been defeated.
