Neither Deportivo nor Athletic Club have important casualties for Saturday’s game. Garitano only has the case of new signing Davy Roef, who is injured.

After an unusual break in la liga, Deportivo return to the competition visiting Athletic Club (San Mamés, Saturday, 18h30 CET). The Galicians have one less game than the rest after the suspension of last Friday’s game, but still managed to keep a six-point gap with relegation, still they want to conquer the first away win once and for all.

Coach Gaizka Garitano is once again having enough options for the lineup. Goalkeeper Davy Roef is the only player out of the game due to an ankle sprain. The Belgian should be out for at least one week.

Fayçal Fajr joined the trainings on Monday after taking part in the African Cup, but what’s expected is that Garitano is going to repeat the same lineup that was going to be used against Real Betis, which includes the debut of Gaël Kakuta as a starter.

At Athletic Club, Ernesto Valverde has no significant injury cases affecting his team for the game against Deportivo. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (quadriceps) and striker Sabin Merino (groin) are the men out of the game, but it won’t affect the plans for the meeting.

Also, centre-back Aymeric Laporte was dragging a knock and midfielder Gorka Elustondo was dealing with muscle problems, but both should be available for Saturday’s meeting as they joined the trainings on Wednesday. The question is if Valverde will end up making rotations as on Thursday they face the first-leg in Europa League hosting APOEL Nicosia.
