Poor season in general and poor season at home, Depor suffered again scoring goals and adding points at the Riazor. The team also failed four penalties despite been a strong side in set-pieces.

Not a good season for Deportivo La Coruña, the team spent the major part of the time closer to the relegation places and the stats demonstrates this. The team played 42 official games during the season (38 in liga and 4 for Copa Del Rey). It won 9 times, 14 games were draws and it suffered 19 defeats. The team scored 49 times and allowed 66 goals.

Depor only added 36 points in liga, a mark that wouldn’t have avoided the relegation in the previous two demotions of the Galicians, but it was enough this time due to the poor numbers of Sporting, Osasuna and Granada. Actually, this was the worst mark of points for the club since the 31 added for the season 1991/92.

One of the main problems continues to be the results in the home meetings. Last season, Depor were the worst home team in the league with only 20 points added at the Riazor.  This time there was a slight improvement as the Galicians added 26 points at home, it’s the sixth worst record in the league only above Osasuna (13), Granada (16), Sporting (19), Leganés (21) and Betis (25).

In large parts of the season, Deportivo had problems to score goals, and the stats reflects this. Los Blanquiazules competed 446 shots in liga, the tenth best mark in the tournament, but their shoot accuracy was only of 41%, the worst mark in the competition tied with Alavés.

The team also had problems at the moment of dominating the games. The accuracy in the passes during the liga meetings was 78%, the tenth best mark in the league, which allowed a global ball possession of 48%, this was the fourteenth best mark in la liga.

During the league campaign, it was pointed the large number of points that Depor dropped for allowing late goals in the meetings, the Galicians allowed 16 goals starting at minute 75 (3 in added time), but in the end this was only the eighth worst mark in the league, this department was led by Celta and Osasuna (both with 22).

A final stat to have in mind was the number of penalties that was missed: 4. It was the second biggest number in the league only behind Atlético Madrid. (6). But in a general sense, Depor were a strong team in set-pieces, this after scoring 16 goals in strategic plays, which is the 11th best mark in the league (6 in plays after lateral free-kicks, 1 direct free-kick, 7 corner-kicks and 2 penalties).
