SEASONS 2016/17: PLAYERS STATS

25 May 2017
Juanfran was the player with more minutes, Andone was the top scorer and Álex Bergantiños had the best passing ratio. Andone, Sidnei and Çolak also shone compering their numbers with other Primera players.

31 players had minutes with Deportivo during the regular season. Only nine men had 2,000 or more minutes in liga. The player with more minutes was Juanfran Moreno (2,961), followed by Andone (2,900), Borges (2,723), Sidnei (2,491), Colak (2,476), Albentosa (2,335), Guilherme (2,280), Lux (2,205) and Navarro (2,051).

No one was able to play the full 38 league matches with Depor, the closest thing was Andone. The striker played in 37 meetings and only missed the home game with FC Barcelona due to a suspension (March 12).

Of the 31 players that had minutes during the regular season, two were lads from Depor B: winger Óscar García and centre midfielder Edu Expósito. Óscar played in Copa before Deportivo Alavés, and later played a minute in the first round game at UD Las Palmas (January 20). Meanwhile, Expósito played 45 minutes in the home clash with RCD Espanyol (May 7).

The top-scorer at the team was Florin Andone, who scored 12 goals. The Romanian is also the second-best scorer among the signings of the past summer. Sandro led this department with 14 goals at Málaga CF. Borges with 6 and Joselu with 5 goals completed the top scoring trio at Depor. Emre Çolak and Juanfran were the best assistors with six, while Carles Gil ended with four assists.

The best passing ratio (players with at least five games played) was for Álex Bergantiños (86.5%), who was followed by Sidnei (86.2%), Carles Gil (85.3%), Guilherme (83.8%), Celso Borges (83.1%) and Emre Çolak (82%). The worst passing ratio was for Joselu (62.6%), who was followed by Kakuta (63.2%), Andone (67.3%) and Borja Valle (68.5%).

It was a mediocre season in a general sense, but some players shone at the moment of comparing their stats with the other 19 clubs. Like the case of Andone, who completed 99 shots, the sixth best mark in la liga, only below Messi (179), Ronaldo (162), Luis Suárez (120), Rubén Castro (117) and Neymar (105).

Meanwhile, Sidnei Rechel made 149 clearances, which was the eighth best mark in la liga, only below Lejeune (191), Diego Reyes (168), Pezzella (167), Stefan Savić (165), David López (159), Mangala (156) and Feddal (155).

Also, Emre Çolak made 71 key passes (final pass leading to a shot at goal). It was the eighth best mark at Primera División, only below Neymar (91), Pedro León (85), Jonathan Viera (84), Toni Kroos (80), Messi (79), Beñat and Koke (both 72).

Finally, Borges (227) and Andone (192) demonstrated their power in aerial duels won, only seven la liga players had more than Depor’s duo: Deyverson (365), Gabriel Pires (354), Camacho (268), Raúl García (258), Sergi Enrich (255), Aduriz (248) and Gerard Moreno (235).
