Deportivo are coming from a defeat in the opening matchday, but Pepe Mel recovers players and sees how the injured men are positively evolving.

Deportivo search for redemption after the defeat in the first matchday as the Galician visit Levante UD (Ciutat de València, Saturday, 20h15 CET). Coach Pepe Mel won’t have a full squad available for the meeting, but sees how things are improving.

Centre midfielder Fede Valverde could be making his debut after been ineligible against Real Madrid, while Emre Çolak returns from a suspension. The positive news is complemented by the evolution of the injured players.

Playmaker Carles Gil joined the group on Tuesday and seems recovered from his groin injury, but he won’t receive the medical okay before the game. Still, it means good news as the Valencian was even considering a surgery and now seems closer to return.

Zakaria Bakkali didn’t end the game with Real Madrid due to a hamstring problem, he skipped the first two trainings on the week, but the Belgian joined the group on Thursday and will undergo a late test on Friday in order to determine if he will be picked for Saturday’s match.

Fabril’s Edu Expósito had trained with the first team after been in the roster against Real Madrid, the novelty on this week was to see keeper Álex CoboFrancis.

At Levante UD, there’s a sense of confidence after the team clinched the first win of the season facing a strong rival: Villarreal CF. Now they want to take advantage of the fact of having two straight games at home in this start to the season.

Coach Juan Ramón López Muñiz has two casualties for the meeting, the first one is striker Roger Martí. He was the top-scorer on last season netting 22 goals, and during the pre-season he suffered a serious knee injury that will left him sidelined for six months.

Centre-back Róber Pier is also out of the game as Deportivo is his parent club, the Galician also missed the opening matchday due to a suspension.  The Valencians have made nine signings during the summer, the last one was Samu García, the centre midfielder was announced on Thursday and it isn’t expected that he will be picked for the clash with Depor.
