Intense summer window for Deportivo, the club was active since the start until deadline day. Ten signing s were made and seven men under contract left the club. Pepe Mel has now a squad with 24 players.

As it was planned, Deportivo had signed big part of the squad before matchday 01 in liga, but important decision needed to be made within the last days of the summer window. Eight of the ten signings arrived before the debut in liga, which included the arrival of Adrián hours before the kick-off against Real Madrid.

One day before the closure of the market, the Galicians secured the long-awaited return of Lucas Pérez, and on deadline day it completed the arrival of goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, which was a late decision after the injury of Rubén Martínez.

Even things were busy at Fabril, Luis Fernández returns in order to play at Segunda B. He has been training at Abegondo for a while as the striker is recovering from an injury (one month out). The player was waiting for Segunda offers, but decided to stay and was inscribed on deadline day. Bicho also decided to stay and he and Luis were the last two inscriptions in a team now composed by 21 lads (22 players is the biggest number possible in Segunda B).

The exits were also a busy subject within the last days, seven players under contract left the club, all of them with at least one week reaming in the window, but the club also tried a new loan for left-back Saul García. Initially he was going to be loaned to Serie B club Brescia, but the deal collapsed and the club didn’t find any new destiny, therefore he is staying.

Originally, the plan of Pepe Mel was to stay with 23 players at the first team, but the unexpected injury of Rubén forced the club to have three goalkeepers, while the failed exit of Saúl raised the number of players to 25. Meanwhile, the second team has 21 layers inscribed, there’s an additional slot available for the winter window.

Deportivo completed ten signings, five are loan deals (two with buyout options -Carles Gil and Adrián), one was a zero-cost transfer (Fede Cartabia) and three were final transfers with Depor paying around €7.5 million (Schär, Guilherme and Gerard Valentín).

Meanwhile, seven players under contract have left the club during the summer. Depor only collected money in one of them after Pablo Insua was transferred to Schalke 04 for €3.5 million, then Álex Bergantiños was loaned to Sporting Gijón and Róber to Levante UD, while Oriol Riera, Laure, Fayçal Fajr and Juan Domínguez rescinded their contracts.
