New victory of a serious Fabril that’s now in promotion seats. Óscar and Romay didn’t shine, but Borja Galán and Diego Caballo showed up to lead the team in the third straight win.

Coach Cristobal Parralo had the casualties of Jardel and Luis Fernández for injury reasons, while keeper Álex Cobo and midfielder Edu Expósito were unavailable after been picked by the first team for the visit to RCD Espanyol. Bicho was a last-minute casualty for illness and his spot at the starting formation was taken by Jorge Romay. Juvenil A keeper Pablo Brea was picked for the game, also Pedro Alvés, who was the emergency pick for the injury of Bicho.

The lineup was a 4-2-3-1 with Francis Uzoho covering the goal, Blas Alonso performed at the right-back position, Steve One and Quique Fornos were the centre-backs, Diego Caballo performed at the left. Carlos López and Queijeiro were the centre midfielders, Óscar García attacked from the left wing. Romay was the playmaker, Borja Galán performed on the right flank and Uxio Dapena was the centre forward.

Coruxo FC arrived in an ascending line, the club from Vigo lost the first two games, but later chained three straight wins. Coach Rafa Sáez had ex-Fabril Juampa Barros as a starter, also winger Álex Arias, who is the top-scorer at the team with two goals in favour.

A new exercise of maturity for Fabril, the team had the ball possession and the best chances to score, but it had to fight hard before a rival that only gave up after allowing the third goal.

Fabril had the initiative and soon it had the first chance to score, it was a drilling and crossed attempt from Carlos López that missed the target (1’). Two minutes later Romay got the ball inside the area and released a drilling cross that Uxio connected at the box, but a defender cleared the danger.

Depor’s lads had the ball possession and Coruxo had big problems to step into offensive positions. At minute 12, Óscar headed a lateral free-kick from Borja Galán and visiting goalie Alberto Dominguez got the ball at the bottom of the far post.

The first approximation for Coruxo was a cross from the right that Francis barely cleared (15’).  Five minutes later Borja Galán hit the crossbar, the striker found a loose ball inside the area and his strong shot ended hitting the woodwork. The Madrilenian attacker was the most consistent player in the game, active inside the area and also bringing danger on the right wing.

At minute 22, Fernando got the ball in a rebound after a lateral free-kick for Coruxo, and his shot from the box was saved by Francis. Two minutes later Romay was heading a cross from the left, but he missed the target.

Óscar had the next chance for Fabril, this time after collecting a pass from Romay, but his low shot was an easy catch for Alberto (31’). Two minutes later Alberto made a great save before Romay, this time Queijeiro was the one making the pass.

The game gained excitement in the final stretch of the first half as the goals started to arrive. After two straight corners. Fabril scored the first goal in the game. In the rebound of the second corner, left-back Diego Cabello found the ball at the edge of the area and scored with a low shot into the far post.  Coruxo’s players protested the goal as Uxío tried to deflect the attempt at the box and he was offside.

Only four minutes later Fabril found the second goal, this time Caballo appeared to assist. The left-back released a long cross from his side, Óscar missed the ball at the centre, but Romay showed up at the far post to cross Alberto.

There was an immediate reaction from Coruxo as in a corner-kick action Álex Arias found the ball at the edge of the area and released a rocket that was impossible for Francis. Suddenly, Fabril passed from a comfortable two-goal lead to be suffering a lot, this since Juanmpa could have tied at minute 41, but he sent the ball out when he was alone before Francis.

Centre-back Quique Fornos got injured at the end of the first half and he was replaced by Raúl González.  Fabril started better in the second part, having the ball possession and also the intention to attack, though the first shot on target was for Coruxo. Anton de Vicente attempted a cross that ended in a shot saved by Francis (54’).

Things were heat up at the start of the second half, there were some tough fouls by Coruxo, Juampa committed two fouls in a matter of two minutes and should have been sent off, but the referee didn’t want to show the card in the second foul, which was a tough tackle over Borja Galán (46’).

Borja Galán had the first chance for Fabril in the second part, the attacker collected the ball at the edge of the area, but his attempt went over the crossbar (61’). Galán was the best player for the locals, he was creating a lot of problems on the right, while Coruxo missed ideas playing on the counterattack.

Then Fabril found the third goal, it was a throw-in action, Borja Galán sacrificed himself and released a cross from the right that Romay met inside the box to score the goal. Coruxo gave up after the third goal and Caballocould have scored the fourth with a volley that missed the target (77’). Martín Bengoa was the second substitution, he took the place of Óscar

Anton de Vicente could have scored at minute 83, it was a direct free-kick for Coruxo in his attempt passed close to the near post of Francis. The final substitution at Fabril was the entry of Gaizka Martínez for Carlos López.

Third win in a row for Fabril, Depor’s lads stroke at the precise moments and deserved the victory for the chances had and the ball possession. Óscar and Romay weren’t too precise, but Borja Galán led the attack, this time joined by Diego Caballo, unexpected scorer and assistant in the match.
