Another big win for Fabril, not even the casualties cut the streak of a team that chains seven straight victories. Big game by Ismael Díaz, who scored the first goal.

Coach Cristobal Parralo was once again having important casualties: Quique Fornos, Caballo, Bicho and Luis Fernández were still out for injury reasons, they were joined by Borja Galán and Steve One, duo that got injured in the past meeting with CD Talavera. Keeper Francis Uzoho was picked by Pepe Mel for the home game with Girona FC, at least midfielder Edu Expósito and playmaker Jorge Romay were available. Juvenil A players Jorge Valín, Mujaid Sadick and Pablo Brea were picked for the game in order to fill the gaps.

The lineup was a 4-2-3-1 with Álex Cobo covering the goal, Blas Alonso performed at the right-back position, Gaizka Martínez and Raúl González were the centre-backs, Lucas Viña performed at the left. Edu Expósito and Álvaro Queijeiro were the centre midfielders, Óscar García attacked from the left wing. Romay was the playmaker, Ismael Díaz performed on the right flank and Uxio Dapena was the centre forward.

The rival was CDA Navalcarnero, team that two seasons ago eliminated Fabril in the promotion playoff at Tercera. The team coached by Julián Calero also had a strong start and arrived third at the standings after winning four of their previous five games. The big casualty for the game was Joaquín Cerdá, who had scored six goals so far, he was suspended. So, the reference upfront was Édgar Agudo.

Another impressive result for Fabril. Depor’s lads not only added the tree points visiting one of the favorite teams for the playoff spots, but also did it with important casualties. The centre of the defence was improvised, but the team kept the same strength. Romay was the best player in the first half, in the second Ismael Díaz paved the way to victory.

The game was open since the start, because both sides were having their opportunities. Fabril started better with Romay first attempting a long-distance shot that missed the target (6’), and later assisting Uxío in a header that missed the target (9’).

But then CDA Navalcarnero started to control the game and gained a penalty after a foul of Edu Expósito inside the area. Gonzalo Ónega seized the chance and scored from the penalty spot.

Since this point in the game Fabril started to have problems to pass the ball, though the opportunities were arriving. The connection Romay-Uxío appeared again, and one more time the striker was unable to seize the pass from the playmaker (18’).

Then Álex Cobo made the save in a one-on-one action with Édgar (22’), the next chance was for Fabril with a shot by Ismael Díaz that was blocked by local goalie Isma Gil (29’). That was going to be the lonely shot on target in this half for the visiting side. For the final fifteen minutes, the locals continued having the ball and there were no more opportunities to score.

The second half started with the locals pushing for a second goal, since there was no reaction Parralo made the first substitution and Jardel replaced Romay. It was the first appearance of the Portuguese attacker on this season.

It wasn’t a good game for Fabril, but Depor’s lads managed to keep the impression of been a solid block. Both centre-backs were improvised and the team only allowed a goal, and it was a penalty. Meanwhile Óscar and Romay missed the same depth of past games, but it was then that Ismael Díaz emerged as the reference in attack.

Fabril managed to equalize in their best play in the game. Óscar García made the play on the left and his high cross was headed by Ismael Díaz at the far post. It is the first goal for the Panamanian since his arrival to the club.

Ismael Díaz was again close to score at minute 67, but his low shot missed the target.  It seemed Fabril were going for the victory, but then the team turned to be more defensive as the players were tired. Parralo gave the point as a positive thing and replaced Óscar with Carlos López.

And the score could have changed at minute 80 after a new opportunity for Ismael Díaz that was followed by a counterattack in which Álvaro Barbosa hit the woodwork. The final change was the entry of Juvenil A centre-back Mujaid Sadick replacing Ismael Díaz.

But there was room for the victory as Fabril scored the winner in the stoppage time. It was a corner-kick action with Edu Expósito released the cross and Jardel headed the ball at the far post. Local midfielder Manu Jaimez was sent off for protesting.

Fabril continue with its impressive path and clinched a seventh straight victory, the team was solid despite the casualties in what was a big game for Ismael Díaz. Depor’s lads remain at the top of the standings, now with a seven-point advantage over the fifth place. The next game is at home facing CD Guijuelo (17h00 CET)

Comments from Parralo: “It was a hard-worked victory, the lads never surrendered, and we turned back a game that was complicated. We imagined a game like this, we had watched the games of Navalcarnero, a physical team that closes lines. It’s true that we tried to have the ball and had to came from behind. We made changes that worked out. The strength of the group is big, because we are having a lot of casualties, but the group is pulling up and the lads and the ones that are causing this reaction. It’s hard to get seven straight victories and the merit is only of the players. We never imagined having these points, but a lot still ahead. Nothing has changed for us as there are big teams targeting the first places. We are ambitus, but continue to face the situation in the same way,”
