DEPORTIVO IN NOVEMBER

03 Nov 2017
Four official games for Depor in November, despite been facing rivals with different budgets, all of them can be considered as disappointments in this start of la liga.

November is similar to October in the sense that Deportivo will have a busy calendar at the end and after passing through an international break. The main characteristic is that all the rivals in the month can be considered as disappointments despite the liga tournament has just started.

The first rival in the month is Atlético Madrid, it’s weird to refer to them as a disappointment, but the true is that Los Rojiblancos aren’t matching the expectations. They are one of the three Primera clubs that remain undefeated, but the problem is that five of their ten games ended in draws, so they are already eight points away from the leader. Also, they are almost eliminated in Champions League after been winless in four matches, they don’t even were able to defeat Segunda B Elche CF in Copa, therefore there’s a sense of disappointment among the fans as the team seems out of the race for the main titles.

Then there’s a break due to the international action and la liga returns with Deportivo visiting Málaga CF. The Andalusians just won their first game in liga, but remain in relegation with the fans blaming owner Al Thani. Málaga CF even lost with Segunda club CD Numancia in Copa Del Rey.

A new busy week comes at the end of the month with three games in a frame of seven days, first Depor host Athletic Club playing for la liga. The Basques aren’t matching the expectations and have lost four of the last six games in liga; actually, they are tied in points with Deportivo. They are also having a disappointing season in the Europa League and might not even pass the group stage, while were unable to beat Segunda B SD Fomentera in Copa Del Rey.

The month ends with the second-leg in Copa Del Rey visiting UD Las Palmas, the 1-4 aggregate score seems definitive, but Deportivo just won there with a similar score (1-3) and the tie could be open if the Canarians continue to present a poor defence.
