Parralo recovers Lucas and Valverde, but Adrián is doubtful. The rival is missing a couple of key players, but Simone Zaza will be available.

After a painful end of 2017, Deportivo gained some hope with the point earned at Villarreal CF, now the Galician side wants to extend this positive feeling, but it won’t be easy as the next rival is Valencia CF (Saturday, Riazor, 20h45 CET), the current third place at the standings.

There are mixed news for coach Cristóbal Parralo, the good news is that striker Lucas Pérez (back) and centre midfielder Fede Valverde (illness) are available after missing the last game in liga for physical reasons, Fabian Schär is also returning, the Swiss centre-back missed last Sunday’s game at Estadio De La Cerámica fur suspension

The bad news is that striker Adrián López is doubtful after missing the last two training sessions due to a groin problem. He will make a late test on Friday in order to see how he feels. At the same time winger Zakaria Bakkali is ineligible to play as Valencia CF is his parent club.

The other player that will not be available is playmaker Fede Cartabia, the Argentine remains training apart, but he’s optimistic of joining the group on next week, which means that he has chances of been fit to play in two or three weeks.

Parralo has been testing the same 4-3-3 draw of the last game, which included to see Raúl Albentosa, Pedro Mosquera and Florin Andone repeating their role as starters, but Lucas might start if Adrián isn’t fit to play.

Valencia CF arrive to the meeting trying to recover some territory after losing three of the last five games in liga, and also after making an effort in midweek playing for Copa Del Rey. Coach Marcelino made rotations for the tie against UD Las Palmas (agg. 5-1) and recovers right-back Martin Montoya and striker Simone Zaza, duo that was suspended for the game against Girona FC. The Italian striker is the top-scorer of the team (10).

But at the same time winger Andreas Pereira and centre midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia will miss the game with Deportivo due to suspension (they picked the fifth yellow card of the season). The other two men that are out of the game are centre-back Jeison Murillo (muscle) and midfielder Carlos Soler (ankle sprain).

The Valencians already made moves in the winter market, they signed striker Luciano Vietto, who just scored a hat-trick in Copa after spending the entire year 2017 without netting goals, while winger Fabian Orellana was sent on loan to SD Eibar and striker Rafa Mir was transferred to Wolverhampton.

Their last move in the market was the signing of centre midfielder Francis Coquelin, he arrives loaned from Arsenal FC with a mandatory buyout option of €10 million. It’s not expected that he will be picked for the game with Depor.
