Deportivo are slowly improving, but itís scoreless streak is costing points and is now the worst at the club in seven years. The Galicians have wasted two of the four penalties had on the season.

The eight notes from the game Vs. RCD Espanyol:

- Improvement: Deportivo have shown an improvement under Clarence Seedorf; regardless the scoreless streak and what could be said of the rivals, this new version of Depor looks more solid in defence and has learned how to correct the many individual mistakes committed at the back zone. Thus the Galicians have only allowed two goals within the last three games and shows some signs of improvement in offense despite missing the goals.

- Worthless: Depor added a point, but in the current situation the best valorization of the game is that Depor dropped two points. In the current crisis only the victories are useful; actually the Galicians could end the matchday five points below safety if Levante UD are able to defeat Real Betis on Monday.

- 17 shots, 0 goals: Not the best day to score goals. Deportivo completed seventeen shots against RCD Espanyol and still it didnít score any goal. Curiously itís the second time that the same situation happens playing against Espanyol. On February 20, 2016, Depor were visiting the Catalans in liga and lost 1-0, again it ended scoreless despite completing 17 shots.

- Scoreless: Depor have now remained scoreless within the last four liga games and accumulates 405 minutes without goals, itís the worst drought at the club since 2010 (April-May). At the time the Blanquiazul outfit spent 463 minutes without scoring a goal in liga. Seedorf is only the third coach of Deportivo that debuts with three games in which his team doesnít score a goal, the previous two were Ńngel Zubieta (1956) and Enrique Orizaola (1966).

- Solid game by Mosquera: Pedro Mosquera was praised with his performance against RCD Espanyol, and his numbers demonstrate it. He touched the ball in 70 opportunities and had an effectiveness in the passes of 83%. He completed one shot on target and made three key passes. The Galician even assumed the role of Borges as he won six aerial duels (the second highest number in the game behind the 7 duels of ”scar Duarte).

- Debut for Muntari: Sulleyman Ali Muntari only touched the ball in 9 opportunities, but made history becoming the first Ghanaian that plays for Deportivo. He is the player number 461 that plays for the Galicians at the elite.

-Second penalty missed on the season: This was the fourth penalty awarded to Deportivo in la liga and the second thatís missed. Lucas scored in straight matchdays firing from the spot (Vs. Girona FC on October 23 and at UD Las Palmas on October 30). The other penalty missed was the one of Andone in the opening matchday against Real Madrid (August 20). This is the second penalty missed by Lucas in his career at Primera (seven attempts).

- Ten times hitting the woodwork: Cartabia hit the far post during the first half, while Andoneís header met the crossbar in the second. With Depor hitting the posts twice in this game, now the global number of balls hitting the woodwork is ten during the league season, the fourth highest mark in la liga behind FC Barcelona (20), Real Madrid (13) and Athletic Club (12). Curiously, Depor lead the statistics of more posts from shots fired by the rival (14).
