DUBARDIER SIGNS FOR DEPOR

16 Jun 2018
Sebastián Dubarbier is the second signing of Depor for the season 2018/19. The veteran left-back covers the spot of Luisinho and has a long experience in Spain, including Segunda División.

Just minutes after the exit of Luisinho was announced, Deportivo was confirming the arrival of Sebastián Dubarbier, another veteran left-back (he is 32) that signs a one-year contract with the option of an additional season (zero-cost transfer as he was ending contract with Estudiantes). He is pending to complete the medicals.

It isn’t clear yet if this is going to be the first choice for the left side of the defence as new boss Natxo González will also have the options of Saul García and Fabril’s Diego Caballo, but clearly it’s an option that adds experience.

And it’s that the Argentine man (he has an EU passport) spent a decade in Europe before landing at Depor, he played at French side FC Lorient-Bretagne and later jumped to Spain completing 158 league appearances with CD Tenerife, Córdoba CF and UD Almería.

He suffered twice the relegation at the elite and ended his European career playing at Segunda with UD Almeria (99 matches played at Segunda). Currently he was playing with Estudiantes de la Plata in his home country (he ended contract after making 19 appearances with them).

This is the second signing announced by Deportivo ahead of the Segunda season 2018/19. The first arrival is goalkeeper Dani Giménez.
