17 Sep 2018
Fabril was unable to create danger against a rival that seized two of its best chances. Third straight defeat for a team that isn’t improving.

BEFORE THE GAME
Coach Tito Ramallo was recovering Bicho and Carlos López, but the first was left out of the final roster and the second was on the bench. The draw was a 4-2-3-1 figure as the team was searching for the first victory of the season.

Álex Cobo was the starting goalie, Blas Alonso covered the right side in defence, Lucas Viña played on the left, Mujaid and Raúl González were the centre-backs. Iago Gandoy and Javi Cobo were the centre midfielders, Guillermo May attacked from the left wing, Víctor García did it from the right, Jony Montiel was the playmaker and Uxío Dapena was the centre forward.

The rival was SD Ponferradina, the current leader in the league with 7 points in the first 3 matches. The team coached by Jon Pérez Bolo was relying in Yuri de Souza for the goals.

THE MATCH
Sad game for Fabril, the team dominated the ball possession in large stages, but later didn’t know what to do with it. SD Ponferradina had their first chance at minute 5. Saul assisted Dani Pachin, who ran 20 meters to end releasing a low and crossed shot that went out. Fabril was making a good game, lead by Jony Montiel ad Víctor García, but at the same time the team lacked depth and wasn’t creating scoring chances. SD Ponferradina was just waiting and trying to release a counterattack.

Ad when the half was ending, Fabril equalized in counterattack. Ponferradina was releasing a lateral free-kick, the defence cleared the danger, then Victor Garcia fought for the ball and dribbled two rivals, then he assisted Uxio, who released a drilling and decomposed shot that was enough to fool Gianfranco, and later Guillermo May found the ball at the box to score from close range.

The second half started with Quique Fornos replacing Mujaid and with Yuri missing the target after collecting a cross from the right (48’). SD Ponferradina was slightly better and Ramallo tried to regain control of midfield with the entry of Villarres for Montiel.

Fabril started to dominate, but then SD Ponferradina found the second goal in a distraction. The locals lost the ball when they were attacking and the play ended with Yuri releasing a low cross from the left that Fan Carnicer found at the box to score from close range.

The locals had the ball after the goal, but never found the way to break the deadlock. SD Ponferradina were looking more dangerous in the counterattack and Yuri was close to score with a strong shot that went over the crossbar (72’). Luismi as the last substitution at Fabril as he replaced Gandoy, but the team didn’t create any chance in the second half.
