UNIÓN ADARVE 1 – FABRIL 0 (SEGUNDA B)

04 Mar 2019
New defeat for Fabril and the team is closer to suffer the demotion. The team did nothing and the locals deserved the victory.

BEFORE THE GAME
Coach Luisito was having big problems for the game. Lucas Viña was out injured, while Quique Fornos, Carrión, Carlos López and Iago Gandoy were all out injured. The coach even had to pick Mujaid in order to fil the gap at the bench. The centre-back has been punished playing at Juvenil A for disciplinary reasons.

The draw was a 4-2-3-1. Álex Cobo was the starting goalie, Jorge Valín covered the right side in defence, Steve One played on the left, Raúl González and Carlos Ramírez ‘Leto’ were the centre-backs. The centre midfielders were Gaizka Martínez and Javi Cobo. Víctor García attacked from the right wing, Ignacio Abeledo did it from the left, Jonathan Montiel was the playmaker and Uxío Dapena was the centre forward.

AD Unión Adarve is a direct rival for the salvation, they were currently lying in the demotion playoff place after only winning two of its last fifteen games. Coach Jorge González ‘Astu’ was relying in Álvaro Sánchez for the goals, he is the top-scorer at the team with six goals scored before this meeting.

THE MATCH
Very poor presentation by Fabril. The lads never had a clear idea of how to attack facing a rival that also has offensive problems but that at least showed more intensity and will. The game started with a good pace, Fabril gained a corner-kick after a play by Uxío (2’) and in the next play the locals had a lateral free-kick that was cleared by the defence. With the passage of the minutes, the game became tedious, because both sides were having problems to create scoring opportunities.

Unión Adarve had the ball, but only arrived thanks to set-pieces that gave some problems to Fabril, but those actions weren’t ending in a shot on target. Meanwhile, Fabril were playing on the counterattack, but lacked precision and depth.

Fabril’s first approximation in the game was a direct dree-kick of Montiel, his low attempt went out close to the near post (14’). At minute 19, a long throw from local keeper Cristian Parras surprised the visiting defence, but Álex Cobo arrived before Álvaro Sánchez.

Then Unión Adarve started to dominate the ball possession, but without clarity. At minute 24, Álvaro Portilla headed a corner-kick and the ball went over the crossbar. Seven minutes later, Gonzalo Ónega found the ball at the edge of the area and his low attempt passed close to the far post. At minute 34, the same Onega attempted again, this time in a direct fee-kick and Álex Cobo made the save. That was only their first shot on target in the game-

Javi Cobo had the last chance for Fabril in the half, he found the ball at the edge of the area and his strong shot went over the crossbar (40’). The last chance for the locals came in the next play, and again was a direct free-kick, and again Álex Cobo made the save against rh volley from Miñambres.

Things were equal at the start of the second part, Fabril requested penalty in a drilling ball that was leaving Montiel alone before the keeper. He fell down before the pressure of a defender. But no penalty was called (54’), and in the next play Unión Adarve scored the lonely goal in the meeting.

It was a cross from the left that Uzochukwu Adighibe found inside the area and the attacker scored through a spectacular scissor-kick. Fabril improved after the goal and Montiel completed the first shot on target in the game for the visiting side in a direct free-kick that was saved by Parras (60’).

Fabril started to have the ball, but it also lacked depth and ideas. Then Lusiito made the changes, Abeledo and Guillermo May replaced Leto and Víctor García. Bicho was the last change as he replaced Gaizka Martínez. The winger had the last chance for Fabril with a strong shot that passed close to the crossbar (79’)

AFTER THE GAME
Painful defeat against a direct rival, the effect of Luisito’s arrival is disappearing and, despite a correct game in defence, it wasn’t enough due to the poorness in attack. The defeat leaves the team a the bottom of the standings, now eleven points under the salvation with only eleven games remaining. The next game is the visit to UD San Sebastián Los Reyes (Sunday, 12h00 CET)
