Bad day at the office for the leaders at Segunda as only Albacete and Málaga were able to win. CD Lugo lost again and is only two points above the pit.

Unusual bad matchday for the teams fighting for promotion as almost all of them were unable to win, starting with leaders CA Osasuna. The Navarrans were comfortably leading at CD Tenerife with a 0-2 score by halftime, only to end losing 3-2. The defeat meant to cut a streak of nine straight games without defeats.

Runners-up Granada CF also failed in the weekend as they were only able to add a 1-1 draw hosting UD Las Palmas, at last they rescued a point as their equalizer came in the added time. The big winners were Málaga CF and Albacete Balompié, the Andalusians suffered, but added a 0-1 win visiting Gimnástic Tarragona, while Los Manchegos trashed CD Lugo at the Anxo Carro (0-3).

Deportivo continued with its depression and only added a goalless draw hosting UD Almeria. Cádiz CF also failed after a 1-1 draw with Córdoba  CF.  The Andalusians remain out of the promotion zone after RCD Mallorca closed the matchday with a 3-0 win over Real Zaragoza.

The then Asturian derby ended in a 1-0 win of Sporting Gijón over Real Oviedo. The result keeps Oviedo out of the promotion zone, while their neighbors have now chained four straight victories and are only six points under the sixth place.

6 Mallorca 51 41 28
7 Cádiz 49 40 26

Rayo Majadahonda are the main news in the fight for the permanence; the Madrilenians trashed CD Numancia (4-0) and have now won three of their last five games. They are now six points above the pit. Elche CF are now three points above them after a 3-1 win over CD Numancia.

The defeat of CD Lugo, combined with the three points of Extremadura UD in the suspended game with CF Reus, have put things on fire inside the relegation zone, because the Galicians are now only two points above the drop zone. This means that, in the next matchday, there could novelties in relegation for the first time in 2019.

19 Extremadura 30 34 41
20 Nástic 24 18 45

The leaders are facing teams in good shape, first place CA Osasuna host an Extremadura UD that have added 6 of the last 9 points in dispute. Third place Málaga CF host a reborn Sporting Gijón that have won the last four games, while fourth place Albacete Balompié host a CD Tenerife that haven’t lost within the last five matchdays.  Then Deportivo visit a Real Oviedo that don’t want to lose the track of the first six places.

Runners-up Albacete Balompié are the only ones with a more accessible meeting as they visit a CD Numancia that have only added two of the last twelve points in dispute. Cádiz CF are resting and other five games complete the matchday: UD Almeria Vs. Rayo Majadahonda; Córdoba CF Vs. RCD Mallorca; AD Alcorcón Vs. CD Lugo; UD Las Palmas V. Elche CF & Real Zaragoza Vs. Gimnástic Tarragona.
