The death of Extremadura’s José Antonio Reyes has shacked Spanish football, and it hit Segunda División hard with seven games been pushed to Tuesday, including Depor’s meeting at Elche CF.

Sevilla CF announced on Saturday’s noon that their former player José Antonio Reyes has passed away after been involved in a car accident early in the morning. The 35-year winger signed for Extremadura CF in February and had played 9 games with them (he didn’t play against Depor a month ago). He was dealing with a knock and, for that reason, he was going home at the moment of the accident as the winger wasn’t included in the roster of his team for the trip to Cádiz CF.

Two hours later the LFP and La Liga agreed in postponing the game Cádiz Vs. Extremadura UD scheduled for tomorrow, the big headache comes with the fact that, been the penultimate matchday, other six games were scheduled at the same time as Cádiz CF are fighting for the promotion, therefore the seven games are all moved to Tuesday.

The list of affected games is: Albacete Balompié Vs, Málaga CF; Cádiz CF Vs. Extremadura UD; CD Lugo Vs. CD Tenerife; Elche CF Vs. Deportivo; RCD Mallorca Vs. Granada CF; Real Oviedo Vs. Rayo Majadahonda & Real Zaragoza Vs. CD Numancia.

At the time the delay was announced, Deportivo were already flying to Madrid in order to later take the train to Alicante. Coach José Lui Martí had already announced a roster of 19 players and had conceded a press conference.

The players knew about the death of Reyes when they were still in A Coruña as the flight had a delay [a reporter traveling with the team posted a picture from the plane], but since the  LFP didn’t suspend the match immediately the group continued the trip as it was scheduled. Later the club informed that the team will continue with the plan and will stay concentrated in Alicante until Tuesday's game.

Picked players for the game:
Goalkeepers: Dani Giménez & Adrián Ortolá
Defenders: David Simón, Eneko Bóveda, Domingos Duarte, Michelle Somma, Pablo Mari, Diego Caballo & Saúl García
Midfielders: Edu Expósito, Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Didier Moreno, Pedro Sánchez & Fede Cartabia
Attackers: Nahuel Leiva, Carlos Fernández, Christian Santos & Borja Valle.
