Two teams targeting the promotion that didn’t have the best of the starts. Depor are having problems at defence, while Rayo are trying to complete the squad before the deadline.

Referee: Daniel Jesús Trujillo Suárez

Kick-off: 18h00 CET (Estadio de Vallecas)

Deportivo left a negative feeling in the past game with SD Huesca, and their defence now represents the worst one in the league after allowing five goals within the first two matchdays, though it’s true that the Galicians have scored four times, mark only below Cádiz CF (5).

Neither Rayo Vallecano is having a promising start, the Madrilenians had the advantage at some point of the second half during the first two games and ended dropping two points in each meeting. Hosting CD Mirandés they even had one more man on the pitch, but ended 2-2, and visiting Rayo Vallecano they also lost the advantage in the second half (1-1).

Deportivo have defeated Rayo Vallecano in 12 of their 36 visits playing for a league tournament, and Los Blanquiazules have added the three points in 3 of their last 4 games played at the Estadio de Vallecas, the last one a 1-3 win for the Primera season 2015/16.

Coach Juan Antonio Anquela is forced to make changes due to the injuries hitting his team, there were only 16 players available and he had to pick three players from Fabril in order to complete the roster. Still, the lineup will be very similar to the one that defeated Real Oviedo. The changes are also happening after the poor display in the past game with SD Huesca.

Team news: Peru Nolaskoain and Michele Somma are the first players at the injury room during this season. And with Diego Rolán negotiating his exit, Anquela only had 16 players available at the first team, reason why he picked centre-back Mujaid Sadick right-back Jorge Valín and winger David Sánchez.

Man to watch: Striker Christian Santos. The Venezuelan attacker already scored twice after only 70 minutes on the pitch. Anquela didn’t want to confirm if he will start, but admitted that the player deserves an opportunity. It’s expected his entry at the starting lineup, which will move Koné into the wing

Picked players: (19) Dani Giménez, Koke Vegas (goalkeepers); David Simón, Eneko Bóveda, Jorge Valín, Vassilios Lampropoulos, Mujaid Sadick, Luis Ruiz, Diego Caballo (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Gaku Shibasaki, Borja Galán, Ager Aketxe, David Sánchez (midfielders); Borja Valle, Mamadou Koné, Christian Santos & Samuele Longo (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Bóveda, Lampropoulos, Caballo – Álex Bergantiños, Gaku – Koné, Aketxe, Borja Galán – Christian Santos.
Deportivo have suffered three relegations on this century, but Rayo Vallecano leads the list in Spain with four, including one from Segunda to Segunda B. The Madrilenians were only able to stay one season at Primera and now want to go back as soon as possible, and for the job they chose Paco Jémez, who is their second coach with more official games (164). Like the case of Depor, the Madrilenians will be active in the last hours of the market and the team that will face the game will be different to the one that will compete in the remaining of the season.

Team news: Centre-back Antonio Milić was signed late on Friday, it’s too soon for him and he was left out of the game. Who is in the roster is left-back Antonio Luna, who was signed on Thursday and the new arrival could be a starter as Tito is out due to suspension. Ex-Fabril Joni Montiel was also included in the roster for the match.

Man to watch: Striker Adrián Embarba. In a team that remains to be under construction, Adri Embarga is set to lead the offense of the Madrilenians. He only netted 5 goals in 36 games during last Primera season, but he already scored twice on this campaign.

Picked players: (18) Alberto García, Stole Dimitrievski (goalkeepers); Luis Advíncula, Alejandro Catena, Esteban Saveljich, Martín Pascual, Antonio Luna, Sergio Akieme (defenders); Mario Suárez, Óscar Valentín, José Pozo, Álvaro García, Tiago Manuel Dias, ‘Bebé’, Joni Montiel (midfielders); Adrián Embarba, Federico Piovaccari, Óscar Trejo & Andrés Martín (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Alberto - Advíncula, Saveljich, Catena, Luna - Embarba, Mario Suárez, Pozo, Álvaro García – Trejo, Andrés Martín.
