24 Sep 2019
First defeat on the season. It was an equal game with several chances for both teams. There was a possible penalty not whistled for Fabril, SD Compostela scored both goals within the last twenty minutes.

BEFORE THE GAME
Coach Luisito was counting with Mujaid and Iago Novo, duo picked by the first team for the visit to Cádiz CF, but that returned in time for the game. Both were starters. Ukrainian Yevhen Pidlepenets was still waiting for a working permission, while Javi Sánchez was out injured.

THE MATCH
Two of the favorites to win the group collided at San Lázaro stadium, now called Vero Voquete. SD Compostela dominated the actions in big frames of the meeting, but Fabril had some clear chances in the second part and even a possible penalty to claim the lead, later the locals found the first goal and the lads went down after it.

The first approximation was a long-distance attempt of Mario Losada that went over the crossbar (7’). Three minutes later a quick play from the locals was about to leave Gabri Palmás alone against Álex Cobo, but the keeper arrived first and caught the ball.

SD Compostela had the first clear chance to score after Miki Villar released a cross from the right and Josiño sent the ball over the crossbar (17’). The best chance for the locals came at minute 23, Miki Villar released a shot from the edge of the area and his effort met the woodwork.

At this height in the game SD Compostela were dominating, the locals were focusing the attacks on the left side defended by Martí Vilà. Luisito had to make an early change, Aarón Sanchez replaced David Sánchez, who picked a muscle problem.

Mario Losada had his first chance to score at minute 33, he picked a cross at the penalty spot, but was unable to release a proper shot. But SD Compostela were still dominating, though Fabril were having the best chances. At minute 36, Villarres attempted a long-range shot that Pato Guillén had to clear over the crossbar. Two minutes later a strong shot from Aarón Sánchez was barely saved by Guillén.

The second half started with a chance for Pedro Correia, the Portuguese striker was about to collect a cross from the right, but a defender cleared the ball first (46’). Five minutes later Guillén had to clear a dangerous cross from Valin.

At minute 54, a new cross from Valin was connected by Pedro and again Guillén made the save. Three minutes later Valin fired from the edge of the area and the local keeper made the save. Fabril were totally dominating the actions and deserved the lead, though the locals had a clear chance at minute 60, Álex Cobo saved the attempt of Gabri Palmás.

Then it arrived the polemic play of the game at minute 66, defender David Soto made a bad pass to the back and Pato Guillén pushed Pedro inside the area, but the referee didn’t whistle the penalty.  Pedro was the second substitution as he was replaced by Jawed Boumeddane.

And then SD Compostela claimed the lead, Miki made the play and assisted Brais Abelenda who beat Álex Cobo from close range. In frame of three minutes the game passed from a possible 0-1 scenario to a 1-0 situation. And the game ended there are the lads were unable to respond.

Luisito ordered the last substitution and Manu Mosquera replaced Kanouté, but Fabril have already lost the course after the goal, SD Compostela were closer to score and that second goal arrived in the added time.
