Another poor game for Deportivo and another draw. The Galicians only reacted in the second half and when they were trailing. The public whistled the team and chanted against the board.

Christian Santos wasn’t fit to play, therefore he started on the bench; for this reason, Borja Valle was the centre forward. Peru Nolaskoain and Samuele Longo were back after a month out and were also at the bench.

Dani Giménez covered the goal, Eneko Bóveda performed at the right side of the defence, the left flank was for Salva Ruiz. Vassilios Lampropoulos and Javi Montero were the centre-backs. Víctor Mollejo attacked from the right wing, Borja Galán did it from the left, Ager Aketxe was the playmaker and Borja Valle was the striker.

At CD Mirandés, the surprise was that their top-scorer, Martín Merquelanz, was recovered from his injury and started on the left wing. Coach Andoni Iraola had Iñigo Vicente, Álvaro Peña and Marco André as the other references in attack.

Again a poor first half for Deportivo. The team did nothing and never showed a progression from the previous home game with CD Numancia. CD Mirandés were also poor, but at least the visiting side was ending the plays and also had an idea of what to do.

Deportivo had a slow start, CD Mirandés were having the ball and also had the first approximation in a direct free-kick of Merquelanz in which he missed the target (5’). The locals were having big problems to pass the ball from the back, like they were feeling the pressure for the poor results.

Then it came the polemic call on the game, a corner-kick for the Galicians hit the hand of a rival and the locals requested the penalty, but neither the referee nor the VAR said anything. The game followed the same path and Depor continued to be a crippled team in attack.

Depor looked lost on the pith and their first attempt came until minute 26, Álex collected the ball at the edge of the area and his shot missed the target. The first clear chance to score was for CD Mirandés, it was a counterattack in which Marco André fired a strong low shot that was deflected by Dani Giménez (27’).

Neither CD Mirandés were practicing attractive football, but at least they were ending the plays. At minute 29, Marcos de Sousa headed a corner-kick out, two minutes later the action was repeated with Dani Giménez blocking the header from Sergio González.

The only clear chance to score for the locals came almost at half-time, Borja Valle collected the ball at the left wing and released a strong shot from the left corner of the area that visiting goalie Jesús Reguillos ‘Limones’ cleared to corner-kick (44’).

Depor improved, but only after allowing a goal. And the impulse only lasted ten minutes as CD Mirandés ended in better shape. The defensive errors continued affecting a team that was whistled in big part of the half.

Anquela moved the bench at half-time and Christian Santos replaced Borja Galán. But the errors passing the ball continued and in one of them Marcos André was fouled at the edge of the area, the resulting free-kick was a pinball, the initial shot was deflected and then Iñigo Vicente fired from the edge of the area, his attempt was deflected by a Depor’s player and fooled Dani Giménez, Salva Ruiz saved at the left post, but Marcos André was there to push the ball in.

The goal awoke the Riazor, asleep until this point, and there were chants against the board and Carmelo del Pozo, but Depor found a quick equalizer. Aketxe started the play and assisted Bóveda, who entered the area by the right side and fired a strong shot that Limones deflected, then the visiting defense was too slow and Mollejo didn’t miss from close range.

Suddenly Depor were back into the game, Montero hit the post in a corner-kick action, though the play was disallowed for a previous foul (59’). Despite the reaction, Depor were still having defensive problems and Mirandés were also having arrivals.

The second substitution was the entry of Peru Nolaskoain for Gaku. The Basque player left a positive impression and Depor started to play better. The last change at Depor was the entry of Longo for Borja Valle.

But once again the changes didn’t have the expected effect and CD Mirandés ended the game in better shape, Dani Giménez even had to save a bad pass from Montero against Marcos André (87’). The team was whistled after the referee ended the game.

Another poor game by Deportivo, the team simply didn’t do anything in the first part and only had a short reaction after CD Mirandés scored their goal. The rival ended better and the defensive mismatches continued penalizing a team that was looking too nervous and incompetent.

It's the fourth straight draw for Deportivo and the Galicians will remain in relegation and with Anquela questioned and close to be fired. For now, Los Blanquiazules face a busy week and the next game is the visit to FC Girona (Thursday, 21h00 CET).
