Fabril dropped two points after been unable to seize the several chances had in the second half. Luisito missed up to six players. Both goals came though penalties.

Coach Luisito was facing several casualties for the game. Iago Gandoy, Bourdal, Javi Sánchez, Martí Vilà and Jorge Valín were all with the first team for the visit to UD Las Palmas, while Diego Sánchez was injured. At least Ukrainian Yevhen Pidlepenets finally received his working permission and was at the bench.

It could be said that Fabril missed the victory for not having the half of the starting squad, but the true is that the lads could have won the game if they would have seized the several chances had in the second half. They ended the meeting with three shots that hit the woodwork and three chances at the final minute of the added time.

Within the first 30 minutes, the game was equal and at the same time boring. Fabril were trying, but it was unable to create scoring opportunities against a rival well placed on the pitch and that also had problems to attack. The first chance to score came until minute 24 and it was an attempt of Mario Losada that was saved by visiting goalie Marcos Souto.

The second chance for the locals was a shot of Iago Novo that was blocked by Souto (33’). Meanwhile, UD Somozas were relying in the counterattack, they lacked depth and in their best play Juanito earned a corner-kick after dribbling two rivals (36’).

Fabril tried to have a strong start in the second half and put a high pressure, but it only found a goal for UD Somozas. Aarón Sánchez committed a penalty and Luis Nuño didn’t fail firing from the spot.

Pedro Correia had replaced Iago Novo and the locals dominated the game after the goal, and with clear opportunities to score. Aarón Sánchez was close to score from close range, but Souto deflected the ball with the leg (62’). Four minutes later Mario Losada sent the ball over the crossbar firing from the edge of the area.

Then Luisito allowed the entry of Manu Mosquera and the equalizer arrived in a new penalty, this time Mario Losada was fouled inside the area and the striker tied the score firing from the spot. The goal just pushed Fabril up and Iago Parga could have scored the second with a shot that met the woodwork (72’).

Ukrainian Yevhen Pidlepenets debuted and Fabril had two straight opportunities in which the ball hit the post. Pedro Correia met the woodwork firing from the edge of the area (80’), and one minute later Mario Losada headed the ball and it hit the crossbar.

The game ended with Fabril harassing the visiting area and there was a double chance at the last minute of the added time saved by Souto, the action ended in a corner-kick in which Eimil didn’t find the target firing from inside the area (90+3’).
